He was born in Belle Vernon January 13;1915 and had resided in Monessen for the past 20 years. He was a member of the Wayman A.M.E.Church. He was a World War II veteran;having served in the U.S.Army. He received the Bronze Star for heroic action in Normandy and the Silver Star for heroism in Africa. He served with Company K;10th Infantry;First Division.
