Surviving are six daughters;Mrs.Henry Wilson;Muse;Pa.;Mrs.Eliza Lewis;Steubenville;Mrs.Hannah Usher;Fayette City;Mrs.Elizabeth Webster;California;Pa.;Mrs.Martha Corsuch;Steubenville;Mrs.Alice Hammitt;Belle Vernon;two sons;Samuel Stanley;Brownsville;and Robert Stanley;Canonsburg. Twenty-eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren also survive. Friends will be received at the Toner Funeral Home;Broad avenue;Belle Vernon. Funeral services will be held from the funeral home Sunday afternoon;February 18;1940;at 2 o’clock with Rev.James M.Rainey;pastor of the Belle Vernon Christian Church;officiating. Interment will follow in the Belle Vernon cemetery.

Charles C.Smock;aged 84 years;one of the oldest residents of this town;died Wednesday;February 14;1940 at his home on Rostraver street. He was born and reared in the immediate vicinity. Had he lived until February 24;he and his wife would have observed their wedding anniversary. Surviving is his wife;Mrs.Mary Smock;two sons;Russell and Grover Smock;and a daughter;Mrs.Curtis Gates;all of this city;three grandchildren and one great-grandchild and his brother;Nesley Smock of McKeesport. Funeral services will be held Friday;February 16;1940 at 2 o’clock at the late home;801 Rostraver street with Rev.Edward L.Boetticher;pastor of the Methodist Church;officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon cemetery.

Herbert Sneed;aged 45 years;a son of Mrs.Harriet A.Sneed;died at his home in 22 Carson street;Speers borough;at 11 o’clock Thursday morning;September 14;1939. He was born in New England;Pa.;on December 10;1893. He was well known in his home community and the district and was a member of Speers Methodist Church. Surviving are his mother;six sisters;Mrs.Clara E.Burdick of N.J.;Mrs.Virginia Bickerton of Speers;Mrs.Helen De Shields;Mrs.Elsie Tuccelli of North Charleroi;Alma and Eleanor Sneed;at home;and three brothers;Murel Sneed of Belle Vernon;Raymond Sneed at home;and another brother of Elizabeth;Pa. Friends will be received at the late home until 2 o’clock Sunday afternoon;when funeral services will be held with the Reverand Harold Porter officiating.
