Joseph E. Springer; aged 44
years; a life long resident of Belle
Vernon; died Friday; June 28;1940 at
2:45 p. m.; in the Eye; Ear and
Nose Hospital; of Pittsburgh.
Death followed an illness of eleven
weeks.
Mr. Springer attended and was
graduated from the Belle Vernon
High School; and was a member of
the American Legion; having spent
ten months overseas in the World
War. For the past 20 years he
been employed at the Page Mill in
Monessen.
Surviving are his wife; Mrs.
Maude Springer and five children;
Cora Belle; Lois; Ruth; Donna and
Robert. His mother; Mrs. Cora
Springer; also survives; along with
four sisters; Mrs. William Jones;
Belle Vernon; Mrs. Kenneth Russel;
Holvoke; Mass.; Mrs. William
Jeffries; of State College and Miss
Grace Springer; Belle Vernon.
Friends will be received at the
home of Mr. Springer’s mother;

morning; July 1; when the remains
will be removed to the Melenyzer
Funeral Home; where services will
