A daughter of the late Joseph and Josephine Levandosky; she was born in Pittsburgh on Oct. 15; 1911. She was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church in Belle Vernon and retired in 1965 after 15 years in the housekeeping department of the former Charleroi-Monessen Hospital. Prior to her illness; she had resided in Fairhope for over 60 years. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law; John and Marcia Badock of Rostraver Township; a daughter and son-in-law; Eleanor and John Karap of White Oak; a brother; Edward Levandosky; and a sister; Virginia Barnot; both of Fairhope; four grandchildren; Yvonne Kelly and John Badock; both of Akron; Ohio; Crystal Karap of Baltimore; Md.; and Alex Karap of Columbus; Ohio; and seven great-grandchildren. Frank Caputo; 92; of Monessen; died Wednesday; Jan. 16; 2002. He was born Nov. 11; 1909; in Italy; the son of the late Michael Caputo and Louisa Cavelli Caputo Mastronicola. He was a member of the Italian Society of Mutual Aid; the Order Sons of Italy Lodge 1764; and Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church; all in Monessen. Mr. Caputo was retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel; Monessen Plant. He is survived by two sisters; Mrs. Russell (Margaret) Bergstedt and Faustina Fell Skomsky; both of Fallowfield Township; and several nieces and nephews. Daisy Klanchar Hoffman; 88; of Victoria House; Monessen; formerly of Leighty Avenue; Belle Vernon; Rostraver Township; died Thursday; Jan. 17; 2002; at 1:50 p.m. in Mon Valley Hospital; Carroll Township. Born Dec. 6; 1913; in Arona; she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Suzanne Skender Klanchar. She was a member of Pricedale Union Church and was a homemaker. Mrs. Hoffman was a volunteer for the American Red Cross; a member of the Belle Vernon Golden Age Assembly; the former Ladies Auxiliary of Belle Vernon American Legion Post 659; and was a retired cafeteria worker for the former Fox Grocery Co. for many years. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law; Joseph A. and Marilyn Hoffman of Warren; Ohio; and James C. and Sandra Jo Hoffman of Monessen; one brother; Emil Klanchar of Irwin; two grandchildren; Robert Hoffman and Nancy Whitlock; two great-grandchildren; Katelyn Rae and Sarah Marie Whitlock. Leonard A. Seemuth; 64; of Charleroi; died Friday; Jan. 11; 2002 in the emergency room at Mon Valley Hospital. He was born July 8; 1937 in Punxsutawney; a son of the late Philip and Grace Machen Seemuth. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church of Charlcroi; Charleroi Elks Lodge 494; and was a retired fireman with the Charleroi Volunteer Fire Department. He was a retired journeyman machinist at the Allenport Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel. NORRIS TURNER
Norris Turner of Belle Vernon was born on Jan. 3; 1927; in Detroit; Mich.; to the late James Isaac and Louise Turner; parents of 10 children. He departed this life on Tuesday; Jan. 8; 2002; in his home at the Belle Vernon Apartments. Mr. Turner led a full and active life. He was raised in Arnold City and enlisted in the U.S. Armed Forces and served for 20 years in many capacities. He was a Korean War veteran. Norris Turner settled in Detroit; Mich.; where he worked at Ford Motor Company from 1963 to 1970. When he returned to Pennsylvania; he became active and dedicated to the NAACP and served as president of the Mon Valley Branch in 1992 until his death. Mr. Turner also was president of the Antioch Bowling League for many years; and he served as president of the Belle Vernon Apartments Tenants Association as well. Norris Turner was preceded in death by his parents; sisters; Juanita; Patty and Alice; and brothers; Junior and Ronny; all of Toledo; Ohio. Norris Turner and his first wife; Geneva Dupree; had three children; Linda Mounds of Harrisburg; Pa.; Jacalyn Mills of Belle Vernon; and Donna Mills of Monessen. Mr. Turner and his second wife; Leetha Smith; had two children; the late Stanford Turner and Regina Jackson and also Christina Turner; all of Detroit; Mich.
