worked as a self-employed lapidary/silversmith; being well
known for his unique jewelry
and silver work. In addition to

niece and nephew; Tanya and
John Shylock of New Orleans;

of Patuxant; Md.; and Joe Shylock of Carmichaels; and many

Mrs.Adele Rousseau;a pioneer resident of Charleroi;where she migrated from Roux;Belgium;50 years ago;died Saturday;February 22;1941 at 11:30 a.m.at the home of a daughter;Mrs.Mary Sprumont;in Springdale. She had been ill and confined to her bed since January 6. The family resided in Charleroi for 20 years and then removed to a farm near Kittanning. Surviving are six children;Arthur;Alex and Joseph;of Belle Vernon;John;of Creighton;Pa.;Mrs.Sprumont;at whose home she died;and Mrs.Eva Brown. Her husband;John B.Rousseau;preceded her in death in 1919. Friends are being received at the home of her son;Joseph Rousseau;in Belle Vernon;where services will be held Tuesday;February 25;1941;at 2 p.m.in charge of Rev.James Rainey. Interment will follow in the Belle Vernon Cemetery.

Katherine M. Hill; 72; of Monessen; died at 10:30 p.m. Tuesday; May 28; 2002 in Monongahela Valley Hospital; Carroll Township. She was born July 11; 1929; in Pittsburgh; the daughter of the late Julet and Flora Thomas. She was preceded in death by three brothers; George; Jernewth and Cornelius Thomas and one sister; Claudette Jackson. Mrs. Hill was a lifelong resident of the Mon Valley. She was a member of Union Baptist Church in Monessen; where she held the position of deaconess. She was also a member of the choir. Survivors include her husband; Deacon George Hill Jr.; three daughters; Ms. Valarie Hill of California; Mrs. Bryon (Tawndra) Shorter of Cinton; Md.; and Ms. Kimberly Hill of Suitland; Md.; one son; George Hill III of Monessen; two brothers; Timothy Thomas of Henrico; N.C. and Darrell Thomas of Pittsburgh; one sister; Thelma Jiggetts of Pittsburgh; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and a host of nieces; nephews; cousins and friends. Friends will be received at Union Baptist Church; 670 McMahon Ave.; Monessen; from 2 p.m. to 4 and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday. Officiating the service will be Pastor Spencer Harris.
