Eugene V. Russo; 79; of Speers; died Tuesday; July 23; 2002; at his home. A son of the late Michael and Millie Gelotti Russo; he was born in Belle Vernon on April 28; 1923. Mr. Russo was a member of American Legion Post 659 and the Moose Club; both of Belle Vernon. Formerly of Belle Vernon; he had resided in Speers since 1963. Mr. Russo retired in 1985 from the Monessen plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. with 44 years of service and; along with his wife; owned and operated Russo’s Rink in North Belle Vernon from 1979 to 1986. He was a World War II veteran of both the U.S. Army and Navy. Marion A. Mutsy DeRienzo; 80; of Fayette City; died Saturday; July 13; 2002; at 5:15 p.m. following a lengthy illness at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born Nov. 3; 1921; in Fayette City; he was the son of the late Philip and Concetta DiLucia DeRienzo. He was a lifelong resident of Fayette City. Mr. DeRienzo was a member of Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Church; Fayette City; and was retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel; Allenport plant; where he worked as a pipefitter. He was a life member of the Fayette City Volunteer Fire Company with 50 years of service; a member of the Fayette County Fireman’s Association; a social member of the Fayette City American Legion and the Naomi Athletic Cub. Mr. DeRienzo served on the Fayette City Council; Fayette City Sewage Authority; and was the former Fayette City tax collector. He is survived by his wife; Mary B. Davis DeRienzo; to whom he was married 58 years; two sons and one daughter-in-law; Patsy P. DeRienzo and Victor D. and JoLynn DeRienzo; all of Belle Vernon; two daughters and one son-in-law; Marion A. ‘Toni’ and James Hepler of Smithton and Victoria S. ‘Vicki-Sue’ DeRienzo of Fayette City; one brother; Philip L. Mrs. Fundy was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church of Belle Vernon; the Tuesday Evening Women’s Club for over 50 years; the Belle Vernon and Fayette City Golden Agers; the Monessen Civic Center; and the Bear Rocks Resort Club. She was a licensed realtor and; along with her late husband; Frank; started Fundy’s Furniture in Webster in 1964 and then moved the business to North Belle Vernon in 1978.
