James W. Hathaway; 82; of Roberts Street; Belle Vernon; died Wednesday; Aug. 14; 2002; in Country Care Manor; Fayette City. A son of the late Dewey and Gertrude Hathaway; he was born Jan. 1; 1920; in Beallsville. Protestant by faith; Mr. Hathaway was a veteran of World War II; serving four years; two of which were in Germany. He received five Bronze Stars. Mr. Hathaway graduated from California Teachers College in 1953 with a Bachelor of Science degree in education; received his Master’s degree in education in 1971 from California State College; and completed an Administrative Program for Principals at the California State College Graduate School in 1977. He retired in 1982 as the assistant principal at Elizabeth Forward High School. She was an avid bingo player and attended many bingos in the Mon Valley. Mrs. McGee was the owner of the McGee Trailer Court in Belle Vernon and was a secretary at Allied Mechanical Contractors Inc. She was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church in Belle Vernon and of the Longaberger Collection Club. She was also a C.O.R.E. donor. She is survived by her husband; Floyd G.
