Born June 12; 1918; in Belle Vernon; she was the daughter of the late John and Ethel Firbank Culp. Mrs. Segin was a lifelong resident of Washington Township; was Protestant by faith; an avid bowler; and a retired; self-employed ceramic instructor. She is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law; Jonnie and Charles Bird of Perryopolis; Nancy Sue and Leonard Cole of West Newton; and Rosalie Segin of Belle Vernon; one sister and brother-in-law; Rosalie and Gerald Rhodaback of Belle Vernon; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Gerald F. Claybaugh Sr.; 83; of Washington Township; died Sunday; April 25; 2004; at 9:50 a.m. in Jefferson Hospital. He was born Aug. 8; 1920; in Charleroi; a son of the late Robert and Margaret Barrett Claybaugh. He was a resident of Washington Township for the past 45 years. Mr. Claybaugh was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church in Belle Vernon and a 1938 graduate of Charleroi High School. He was a veteran of World War II; serving with the U.S. Army Air Force Medical Department in the Pacific Theater. Mr. Claybaugh was retired as a salesman with the former H&B Chevrolet in Charleroi. For the past four years; he attended the Donora Adult Center; which relocated in Monessen and was renamed the Acorn Adult Center. He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law; Gerald F. Jr. and Carol Claybaugh of Charleroi; one daughter and son-in-law; Geraldine and Theodore Yowonske of Rostraver Township; four grandchildren; Ted Yowonske; Nicole Henson and husband Jody; Brodie Claybaugh and Brendan Claybaugh and wife Tracey; one brother and sister-in-law; Thomas and Florence Claybaugh of Charleroi; and one sister; Margaret Pasur of Texas. Curtis Curley Littleton; 76; of North Charleroi; passed away Saturday; April 17; 2004; while in Orlando; Fla. He was born June 10; 1921; to the late Alberta Littleton-Stanley. He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He was retired from U.S. Steel; where he worked rolling rods and as a crane operator at both the Donora and Duquesne plants. Mr. Littleton was well known in the Valley as a jack-of-all-trades. He was a member of First Baptist Church; Donora; and a former member of the American Legion and Mon Valley Elks Lodge 208. BRUCE E. HILL SR.
Bruce E. Hill Sr.; 71; of Bedford Heights; Ohio; departed this earth on April 12; 2004. Born March 8; 1933; he was a son of the late George and Hazel Hill. Shortly after high school; Bruce married his high school sweetheart; Bessie Crawly of Monessen. He served as a drill sergeant with the U.S. Army. Bruce went on to graduate from California State University in 1963 with a bachelor’s degree in education; which led him to touch many lives as a teacher; consultant; advisor and mentor. His quest for knowledge led to a master’s degree from Case Western Reserve University in 1972. Bruce earned many honors and awards as affirmation; being a Martha Holden Jennings Award recipient; and listed in Who’s Who among American Teachers. He taught for the Cleveland Board of Education for over 30 years before retiring from the profession in 1992 to care for his wife. He leaves to mourn and celebrate his homecoming; his wife Bessie Marie Hill; two daughters and one son; Carmen Rutledge and husband Rick; Belinda Hill; and Bruce Hill and wife Regina; all of Cleveland; Ohio; six grandchildren; Tony; Alicia; Danielle; Jessica; Chelsea and Jada; and one sister and brother; Doris Lawson and George Hill; both of Charleroi. Born Jan. 24; 1914; in Long Branch; she was a daughter of the late Andrew and Anna Rebres Sedlak. She had worked for the former Krills Market for six years in the mid 1930’s. Mrs. Raboci was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Charleroi; where she was a member of the Ladies Aide of the church; and she was a former member of the Hungarian Ladies Society of Pricedale.
