Michael W. Steffey; 63; of Belle Vernon; died Sunday; May 2; 2004; in his home. A son of the late James E. and Dorothy Story Steffey; he was born June 6; 1940; in Pittsburgh. Catholic by faith; he was a lifelong resident of Belle Vernon. He had been a car salesman for many years at the former H&B Chevrolet-Cadillac garage in Charleroi and several other area dealerships. Mr. Steffey was a U.S. Air Force veteran from 1958 to 1966 and was awarded the U.S. Air Force Air Medal for meritorious achievement during military flights while assigned to duty at Yokota Air Base; Japan. Survivors include his former wife; Kathleen Lenio Steffey; two sons and daughters-in-law; Mark W. and Vanesha Steffey of Leominster; Mass.; and Matthew W. and Mary Jane Steffey of Fayette City; seven grandchildren; Christine L.; Matthew W. She was a member of Allenport United Methodist Church; the United Methodist Women’s Association; and the Allenport Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. Gerald F. Claybaugh Sr.; 83; of Washington Township; died Sunday; April 25; 2004; at 9:50 a.m. in Jefferson Hospital. He was born Aug. 8; 1920; in Charleroi; a son of the late Robert and Margaret Barrett Claybaugh. He was a resident of Washington Township for the past 45 years. Mr. Claybaugh was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church in Belle Vernon and a 1938 graduate of Charleroi High School. He was a veteran of World War II; serving with the U.S. Army Air Force Medical Department in the Pacific Theater. Mr. Claybaugh was retired as a salesman with the former H&B Chevrolet in Charleroi. For the past four years; he attended the Donora Adult Center; which relocated in Monessen and was renamed the Acorn Adult Center. He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law; Gerald F. Curtis Curley Littleton; 76; of North Charleroi; passed away Saturday; April 17; 2004; while in Orlando; Fla. He was born June 10; 1921; to the late Alberta Littleton-Stanley. He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He was retired from U.S. Steel; where he worked rolling rods and as a crane operator at both the Donora and Duquesne plants. Mr. Littleton was well known in the Valley as a jack-of-all-trades. He was a member of First Baptist Church; Donora; and a former member of the American Legion and Mon Valley Elks Lodge 208.
