George F. White of Belle Vernon died suddenly on Saturday; May 8; 2004; at his home. He was born June 20; 1928; the only child of the late George H. and Gertrude Livingston White. A lifelong resident of Belle Vernon; Mr. White was retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Company; Monessen plant; where he worked for 38 years. He was preceded in death by his wife of 38 years; Marietta S. White. He is survived by two sons; Craig White of Orange Park; Fla.; and James White of Smithfield; five grandchildren; Amanda; Craig P.; and Kaitlyn of Orange Park; Fla.; and Lindsey and Ashley of Smithfield. Mildred E. Sabol; 81; of Monessen; died Thursday; May 6; 2004; in Monongahela Valley Hospital Inc. She was born July 17; 1922; in Ellsworth; a daughter of the late Frank Sabol and Anna Boldyzar Sabol. She was a 1940 graduate of Monessen High School and a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church. She was a retired bookkeeper; having worked for Keystone Bakery in Monessen. After retiring; she worked part time at the Monessen Public Library and District Center. Mrs. Sabol was an avid Pittsburgh Pirates baseball fan; loved to work on crossword puzzles and played cards with several card clubs. She is survived by one brother; Joseph E. Sabol of Racine; Wis.; one sister; Margaret Matiansky of Las Vegas; Nev.; two nieces; Aurelie Sabol of Cleveland; Ohio; and Janet Sabol of Racine; Wis.; one nephew; Joseph Sabol Jr. of Marquette; Mich.; and numerous cousins. John Alfred Reppert; 85; of Belle Vernon; died Thursday; May 6; 2004. A son of the late Paul C. and Myrtle Zundel Reppert; he was born in Belle Vernon on Dec. 31; 1918. In later years; he was raised by his aunt; Edna L. Reppert. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Belle Vernon; a past member of the church’s official board of trustees; a life member of the Belle Vernon Volunteer Fire Department No. 2 and a life member and past two-term president of the Belle Vernon Lions Club; where he served for over 50 years and was a Melvin Jones Award recipient. Mr. Reppert was a life member and past commander of the Belle Vernon American Legion Post 659; a former secretary for the Borough of Belle Vernon and a former member and secretary of the Charleroi Hooting Club. He graduated from the Bertha Leonard Business School; retired in 1976 as a supervisor for the former West Penn Power Company; and he served as a 2nd Lieutenant in the U.S. Cavalry during World War II. Survivors include a sister and brother-in-law; Edna Grace and Thomas Tucker Wilkinson of Belle Vernon; with whom he made his home; three brothers and sisters-in-law; Charles W. and Madeline Reppert of Waynesville; Mo.; Franklin and Jean Reppert and Ernest and Donna Reppert; all of Belle Vernon; and many nieces and nephews. She was born July 12; 1935; in Monessen; a daughter of the late Adam and Marie A. Chubon Piersa. She was a 1953 graduate of Bellmar High School. Rose was retired from Central Tax Bureau as a regional manager and served on their board of directors. She was a past president of the Belle Vernon Area Football Parents Association and was instrumental in the acquisition of the victory bell in the north end zone of James Weir Stadium. Mr. Ream was retired from the U.S. Postal Service in Belle Vernon; where he worked as postmaster for 17 years. He served in the U.S. Army Reserve.
