Agnes Elma Delp; 80; of the Belle Vernon area; died Aug. 9; 2004 in Jefferson Hospital. Born July 20; 1924 in Fairchance; she was a daughter of the late John and Alice Huber Delp. She was a 1941 graduate of Rostraver High School and attended Douglas Business School in Charleroi and Frostburg State University; Frostburg; Md.; where she obtained a bachelor of science degree in 1958 and a master’s of science degree in education in 1966. Agnes had taught elementary education in Cumberland; Md.; and had taught in the Connellsville Area School District prior to her retirement. She had received the Franciscan Medical Center’s Rehabilitant of the Year award in 1986. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law; MaryBeth and Michael Hollis of Moline; Ill.; two grandchildren; Deborah Olmstead and Daniel Christian; both of Boston; Mass.; two step grandchildren; Elizabeth Bruce and Heath Hollis; both of Illinois; four great-grandchildren; two sisters; and one brother-in-law; Pauline Kuzman of Monessen and Mrs. Ronald (Jean) Coulter of Monongahela; and several nieces and nephews. Margaret L. Kowalczyk; 80; of Dalton; Ohio; formerly of Washington and Fayette counties; died Monday; Aug. 9; 2004 in Shady Lane Nursing Home; Dalton; Ohio. She was born Friday; Sept. 7; 1923 in Charleroi; the daughter of the late Donald M. and Minnie N. Noble Allen. Mrs. Kowalczyk was a former homemaker and farmer. She also worked as a welder during World War II at a glass factory. Mrs. Kowalczyk was a member of St. Michael’s Lutheran Church in Marshallville; Ohio. She is survived by two sons; Henry Kowalczyk and wife Ruth of Orrville; Ohio; and Robert Hull of Dalton; Ohio; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one sister; Flora Legg of Seville; Ohio. She was preceded in death by her husband; 2nd Lt. Henry Kowalczyk; who was killed in action in France on Sept. 23; 1944; and her only brother; Cpl. Donald Noble; who was killed in action in Korea three days before his 23rd birthday on July 5; 1954. Private services were held for the family Wednesday; Aug. 11 in the chapel at Belle Vernon Cemetery; followed by interment. Glenn M. Harrold; 81; of Washington; died Saturday; August 7; 2004; in the Donnell House following a short illness. He was born in Wadena; Minnissota; on April1; 2923; a son of Eura and Olive Naylor Harrold. Mr. Harrold was a member of the Friendship Community Church in Washington. He enjoyed reading his Bible and attending church. He served in the United States Navy in World War II and was a member of the American Legion Post # 175. He had worked much of his life as an Independent Insurance Agent throughout the Washington Area. On June 15; 1946; he married Jennie S. Barnot; who survives. Also surviving are two sons; Leslie Harrold of Longvue; Texas; and Richard Harrold of Wheeling; west Virginia; three grandchildren; Chad an Leslie Shane Harrold; and Juliet Filter; and two great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by two brothers; Robert and Walter Harrold.

Rena Rossi Santavicca; 84; a lifelong resident of Dunlevy; died in Monongahela Valley Hospital on Saturday; Aug. 7; 2004. She was born March 23; 1920; a daughter of the late Romano and Ernesta Lenzini Rossi. The only Rossi family member not to play soccer; Rena married the Dunlevy Redbirds goalie and was the team’s most avid fan. She was a graduate of Charleroi High School Class of 1937; a member of the Dunlevy United Methodist Church; and a former member of the Dunlevy Recreation Center Inc. Rena enjoy driving her wheelbarrow around her garden and sharing her vine-ripened tomatoes and words of wit and wisdom with friends and neighbors who passed by while on their daily errands.
