Born April 22; 1914 in Charleroi; she was the daughter of the late Gaetano and Theresina Bartolozzi Pieri. Mrs. Biagini was a resident of Belle Vernon since 1936; a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church in Belle Vernon and was a retired clerk for Valdiserri Bakery. She also was an avid bowler; golfer; enjoyed cooking and was a short stop softball player. Before her marriage; she worked at her father’s grocery store in Dunlevy. Ernest L. Ernie Valdiserri; 80; of North Belle Vernon; died Saturday; May 7; 2005; in Canonsburg Hospital. A son of the late Silla and Lena Pieri Valdiserri; he was born in Belle Vernon on July 1; 1924. He was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church and the North Belle Vernon Fire Department; a former member of the Belle Vernon Lions Club; and had been a referee for recreational basketball in the Mon Valley area. Mr. Valdiserri was an avid sports fan; especially of Notre Dame football. A lifelong resident of Belle Vernon; he and his wife owned and operated Valdiserri’s Bakery until his retirement in 1987. Rose Reda Dimasi; 99; of North Belle Vernon; died Sunday; April 24; 2005; in Mon Valley Hospital. A daughter of the late Frank and Mary Sinardo Reda; she was born in Thornwood; W.Va.; on April 17; 1906. Mrs. Dimasi was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church and its Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court 1522; St. Sebastian Ladies Guild and Legion of Mary. She also was a charter member of the Annita Garibaldi Lodge; was the current treasurer of the St. Anthony Society; a position she has held since 1940; and a member of the Belle Vernon Golden Agers. Mrs. Dimasi; along with her late husband; owned and operated the former Dimasi’s Bar and Grill in North Belle Vernon for 42 years; until retiring in 1977. Alfred T. Jeffries; 88; of Charleroi; passed away Sunday; April 24; 2005; at The Residence at Hilltop in Carroll Township. Mr. Jeffries was born in Belle Vernon on May 16; 1916; the son of the late Fred T. and Harriet Wingenwroth Jeffries. He was a member of the Charleroi Presbyterian Church. Mr. Jeffries was a past president of the Charleroi Lions Club; and he also was a member of BPOE Lodge 494 and VFW Post 167; both in Charleroi; and had been an active member of the Charleroi Fire Department since 1946; serving as past president. Mr. Jeffries attended Penn State University for one year; where he played football. He was an avid fan of the Nittany Lions. He serviced in the U. S. Navy and was Chief Petty Officer in England. He worked at Riecks Dairy Bar and Milk Company and Sealtest for 37 years until 1972; then worked for Guttman Oil Company until his retirement. Survivors include two sons; Dr. Alfred T. Jeffries III; of Providence; R.I.; and John P. Jeffries; of Pittsburgh; a daughter; Susan Watkins and husband Ronald; of Carroll Township; two grandchildren; Graham W. Watkins and Curtis B. Watkins; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years; Jean Barger Jeffries; in 1998; and a sister; Mary Jeffries Whitelaw.
