Mr. Cardelli was born in Monessen on May 15; 1923; the son of the late Angelo and Louise Cardelli. He was a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church; a 63-year member of American Legion Thomas McKee Post 28; V.F.W. Allison-Lescanac Post 1190; life member of the Italian Society of Mutual Aid; Disabled American Veterans; Belle Vernon Musical Society; Monessen Firemen’s Clubs No. 1 and 2; and the Ukrainian Club. Mr. Cardelli was retired from the former American Chain and Cable Co. Pages Division; in Monessen. He was a veteran of World War II; having served with the U.S. Army in the 134th Infantry; 35th Division in Northern France; Rhineland; Normandy; Asiatic-Pacific Theater and Philippine Liberation; receiving four Bronze Stars. For the past 25 years; Mrs. Mann had been working as a seamstress at Monongahela Valley Hospital. After graduating from Rostraver High School in 1955; she worked at the former J.C. Penney Co. in Monessen. Mrs. Mann was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Monongahela and a member of the Altar Rosary Christian Mothers Society.
