Alice M. DiBiaso; 93; of Monessen; passed away Friday; June 15; 2012; in the Mon Valley Care Center; Carroll Township. She was born July 24; 1918; in Monessen; daughter of the late James & Esther H. Tolf Hott. In her youth; she played softball and was known as Lefty. Alice was an active member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Monessen. Hazel Bush Dayner; 90; of North Belle Vernon; died peacefully in Mon Valley Hospital on Tuesday; September 16; 2009. She was born on August 28; 1919; a daughter of the late Charles and Sara Miller Bush of Bentleyville (Fallowfield Twp). Mrs. Dayner was a 1936 graduate of Charleroi High School and the Bertha Leonard Business School. She was a retired Record’s secretary at California University of Pennsylvania. She was a member of the Pennsylvania Retired Employees Association; both the Belle Vernon and Fayette City Golden Agers and the First United Methodist Church of Belle Vernon. She is survived by her son; Dean and wife Mary Kay Dayner; one grandson; Jason Dayner; all of California; PA.; brother-in-law Clarence Dayner and wife Marge of Ohio and several nieces and nephews including Albert (Bucky) and Dolores Catrino of Ocean City; MD and Connie and Jerry Bevan of Florida. John was a member of the Pricedale Union Church; the Belle Vernon Lions Club; the United Mine Workers of America and the M.E.M.A. A resident of Belle Vernon all of his adult life; he retired after 34 years at the Banning Mines and had assisted with the Mon Valley Toys for Tots program. Shirley May Clark Demko; 77; of Belle Vernon; went to be with the Lord on Sunday; Aug. 2; 2009; in the Hallsworth House of Monessen. A daughter of the late Fred R. Clark Sr. and Margaret Delansky Clark; she was born in North Charleroi on Dec. 4; 1931. Shirley was a member of the Pricedale Union Church; the Fayette City and Belle Vernon Golden Agers; the Sunday Evening Golf Club; the Bunco Club; the former Rostraver Business Association and had served on the board of the former Community Ambulance Service. She organized both the Desert Storm and Gulf War Victory parades and the Welcome Home celebration for the Korean War and Vietnam Veterans Tribute. She was also a member and treasurer of both the Vernon Belles and Five Star Lioness Club; was the Queen Mother of the Gypsy Belle Gadabouts of the Red Hat Society; was an avid volunteer for the Marine Corp Toys for Tots program and was the recipient of numerous appreciation awards from veterans organizations and had received an award from the NAACP. Retiring in 1998; she was the co-owner and operator of the former Et Cetera Balloon and Crafts Store in North Belle Vernon for 21 years. Survivors include her husband; John C. Demko; with whom she would have celebrated 60 years of marriage on Oct. 28; 2009; three daughters and two sons-in-law; Marjorie and Joseph W. Lopez; of Belle Vernon; Mary Ann Demko; of Ft.
