Elizabeth Betty Kosuda Kundrick; 92; of Belle Vernon; Rostraver Township; died Wednesday; June 22; 2011; at 1:16 p.m. at Monongahela Valley Hospital. Born May 25; 1919; in Arnold City; she was the daughter of the late Michael and Elizabeth Hayno Kosuda. A resident of Rostraver Township; Mrs. Kundrick was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church; was a retired cashier from former A&P; Monessen; a member of the former St. Sebastian Church Ladies Guild and a member of the Ladies PA Slovak Catholic Union. She is survived by son and daughter-in-law; John Kundrick Jr. and wife; Lynne; of Erie; two grandchildren; John Pierce Kundrick and Avery Lynne Kundrick. She is preceded in death by her husband; John Kundrick Sr.; on Jan. 7; 2005; brother; John Kasuda; and two sisters; Mary Kuklar and Anna Marcinko. Visitation will be held Tuesday; June 28; from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the LEONARD J. PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME; Family Owned and Operated; 626 Broad Ave.; Belle Vernon; (724) 929-6183. MARY MARGARET HORVAT
Surrounded by her daughters and extended family members; Mary M. Horvat of Woodstock; N.Y.; died at home on July 23; 2009; following a brief illness. She was 77. Arriving in Woodstock in 2007 to live with her daughter; Nancy Smith and Donald Allen; she quickly became a beloved member of the Woodstock community. Survived also by her daughter; Mary Jo Horvat; of Wildwood Crest; N.J.; she is also remembered as a wonderful grandmother to Kristen Smith; of Beverly Hills; Fla. and Patrick Smith; of Woodstock. Hers was a life well-lived; as a sister; wife; mother; grandmother and friend. Predeceased by her husband; Joseph F. Horvat in 2001; theirs was a marriage that spanned 49 years. As a resident of Charleroi; she grew up in a family of nine children and is predeceased by four brothers and three sisters. Her sister; Julie Schwartz; of Las Vegas; Nev.; survives her. Mrs. Horvat also leaves behind her close friends Beverly Spotts; of Monessen; Eleanor Stanish; of Charleroi; and former son-in-law Bill Smith; of Kingston; N.Y. She is also survived by a large number of nieces and nephews. Known and much loved for her cooking; sense of humor; her love of animals and a strong belief in family; Mrs. Horvat was a parishioner at the Mary Mother of the Church in Charleroi. She was interred at the Belle Vernon Cemetery in Belle Vernon. Donations may be sent to Hospice or the ASPCA.

Charles Homanics; Jr.; 91 of Fayette City; Pa; died Tuesday; May 18; 2010 in Uniontown Hospital.
He was born September 5; 1918 in Fayette City; Pa.; Son of the late Charles Homanics and the late Anna Lazor Homanics. He was a member of Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church; Belle Vernon. Charles was retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel; Allenport plant. He was a US Navy veteran of WW II.
Surviving is one Son; William Homanics of Issaquah; WA; Grandson; Christopher Homanics of Issaquah; WA; Brother; David Homanics of Fayette City; Sister; Ann Knack of Issaquah ;WA.
He was preceded in death by his wife; Rose M. Coates Homanics in 2003.
