John E. Ramsey; 79; of Perryopolis (Jefferson Township); entered into eternal rest with his loving family at his side on Wednesday; February 6; 2008; in Allegheny General Hospital; Pittsburgh; Pa. He was born August 20; 1928; in Fayette City; a son of the late Abe and the late Ruth Coughenour. He was a member of Braznell C&MA Church. Mr. Ramsey worked at Corning Glass from 1944 to 1946 and served with the U.S. Air Force in Japan from 1946 to 1949. He was a carpenter for many years and retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel; Allenport Plant in 1993. Augustine M. Augie Moreau Behrendt; 91; formerly of Monessen; died January 31; 2008. Mrs. Behrendt was born February 29; 1916; in Monessen and moved to The Villages; Fla.; from Sterling; Ill.; in 2004. She was an elementary school teacher and principal in Monessen and was a world traveler who loved reading and crossword puzzles. She was preceded in death by her parents; Louis and Louisa Moreau; her husband; Herman Carl Behrendt; and her brothers; Eugene Moreau and Gustave Moreau. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law; Dr. Richard L. and Janice K. Behrendt; of The Villages; Fla.; a daughter; Louise Ann Kelly; of St. Clair Shores; Mich.; five grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. She will be interred in Belle Vernon Cemetery with arrangements made by FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME and CREMATORY INC.; Belle Vernon. Frank J. ”Pete” Staropoli; 44; of Belle Vernon (Rostraver Township); died Tuesday; January 29; 2008. Born in Clairton on July 9; 1963; beloved son of Parents; Frank A. Staropoli & Sandra Oliver of Rostraver Township and Theresa (Staropoli) & Bill Campbell of Orlando; Florida.
Pete was a member of the Church of St. Anne in Rostraver Township and the Holy Name Society of the Church. He was Manager of Starr Auto Service; Inc.; Starr Auto Wrecking & Starr Auto Parts in Rostraver Township for 30 years. He was active in the Rostraver Midget Football League; coached T-ball and Girl’s Softball. He enjoyed hunting; silhouette pistol shooting and was an avid trap shooter. He was a member of the NRA; and several sportsmen associated gun clubs. He was a Harley-Davidson motorcycle enthusiast and enjoyed NHRA Drag Racing.
