Dorothy M. Yowonske; 84; formerly of Belle Vernon; went to be with the Lord on Saturday; Jan. 21; 2012. A daughter of the late John and Mary Dziak Matty; she was born on April 29; 1927. Catholic by faith; she had resided most of her adult life in Belle Vernon. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law; Shirley and Dr. Charles Goyette; of Green Tree and Sallie and Ronald Cox; of McMurray; one son and daughter-in-law; James and Diane Yowonske; of Belle Vernon; and eight grandchildren. In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by her husband; Walter Yowonske in 1997; and one brother; Lawrence Matty in 2011. Julia Rusyniak Yuschak; 97; of North Belle Vernon; died Thursday; May 31; 2012; at 6:30 a.m. at her home. Born Aug. 28; 1914; in Ginger Hill; she was the daughter of the late Peter and Eva Furtak Rusyniak. Mrs. Yuschak was a lifelong resident of the Mon Valley. She was a member of Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church; where she and her husband cleaned for 20 years; and was a life member of the St. Barbara Altar Guild. She and her husband owned and operated a small confectionary; Yuschak’s Grocery; in North Belle Vernon for 35 years. Julia was a very loving and caring mother. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law; John and Donna Yuschak; of Newburg; Ind.; and David and Ann Yuschak; of Plano; Texas; two daughters; Claudette Yuschak; of North Belle Vernon; and Gloria Yuschak; of Fayette City; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband; John Yuschak; on Nov. 1; 1991; a daughter; Carol Boris; three brothers; William; Walter and John Rusyniak; and two sisters; Helen Meluch and Dorothy Ferencz. Nellie M. Basile; 81; of Belle Vernon (Fairhope) was called home to her God; on Wednesday; January 9; 2008 in her home. A daughter of the late William and Frances Goletz Malinowski; she was born in Fairhope on March 24; 1926. Nellie was a lifetime member of Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Church of Fayette City and was formerly a member of the Friends of the Veterans and the Valley of Hope prayer group. She retired in 1988 from the Washington Twp. Municipal Authority. Nellie was a loving wife; mother; grandmother and great-grandmother and will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
