Samuel Krolik; 94; of Belle Vernon; Rostraver Township; died Tuesday; Aug. 2; 2011; at 12:25 p.m. at Mon Valley Care Center in Carroll Township. Born Feb. 15; 1917; in Boswell; he was the son of the late George and Barbra Stelehanich Krolik. A lifelong resident of Belle Vernon; Mr. Krolik was a member of St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church in Monessen and was retired from U.S. Steel; Donora; Santori Kitchen and Bath and the Belle Vernon Area School District. He was a veteran of World War II; having served in the U.S. Army and was the recipient of the Purple Heart and the Air Medal. Sam was a good father and grandfather who loved and did for his family. He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law; Samuel and Margaret S. Krolik; of Fayette City; three daughters and two sons-in-law; Kathryn and Brian Garrick; of Belle Vernon; Barb Altier; of Belle Vernon; and Debbie and Robert Anderson; of Belle Vernon; brother and sister-in-law Andrew and Agnes Krolik; of Belle Vernon; seven grandchildren; Teri Hewitt and husband Tom; Becky Mackey; Jennifer Manown and husband Jerry; Jean Boem and husband James; Lisa Gardner and husband Bill; Bobby Anderson and fiance Tamara Zdravecky; and Jackie Ziskind and husband Shelby; a granddaughter-in-law; Amber Johnson; and 11 great-grandchildren; Jessica and Brittany Mackey; Sara Hewitt; L.J. and Coulton Manown; James Boem; Kya and Miley Krolik; Brian; Brandon and Brooklyn Gardner. He was preceded in death by his wife; Helen Rebovich Krolik (Sept. 9; 1997); four brothers; John; Mike; George and Charles Krolik; two sisters; Elizabeth Moskal and Ann Andrew; a grandson; Samuel S. Krolik II; and a son-in-law; Arthur Altier. Visitation will be held 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the LEONARD J. Catherine Louise Kobosky; 92; of Fairhope (Belle Vernon); passed away Friday; Jan. 14; 2011; in Latrobe Care Center. A daughter of the late Eva Deneen and Rudolph H. Anderson Sr.; she was born in Carnegie on April 6; 1918. A lifelong resident of Belle Vernon; Catherine was a member of Marion Presbyterian Church and the Order of the Eastern Star; Monongahela Chapter 108. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law; Carl R. and Kathleen Kobosky; of Belle Vernon; and Arvid D. and Kathleen Kobosky; of New Alexandria; six grandchildren; Richard; Debbie; Rudolph; Kristie; Michele and Susan; four great-grandchildren; Jaime; Wesley; Austin and Travis; and a great-great-grandson; Connor.
