Michael Rusnak; 87; of Belle Vernon; passed away Wednesday; Dec. 21; 2011; in Monongahela Valley Hospital. A son of the late John and Elizabeth Brandibura Rusnak; he was born in Monessen on Dec. 2; 1924. He had resided in Belle Vernon since 1963; and was a member of the Belle Vernon Moose. He retired in 1986 from the Monessen Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Company and served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Solomon Islands; Japan and the Philippines. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law; Lynn and R.J. Sokol; of Belle Vernon; and Sharon Rusnak and Bryan Strope; of Pittsburgh; two grandchildren; Bobby Sokol and Samantha Strope; and one brother; Joseph Rusnak; of New York City. In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by his wife; Marilyn Ferguson Rusnak; two sisters; Mary Janicke and Margaret Chromulak; and one brother; John Rusnak. Frank A. Spanish died on June 8;2013;in Apache Junction;Ariz.;retired from from Boeing in Seattle;Wash. Frank has lived in Apache Junction for the past 40 years. Stella L. Gordesky Kroskie; 93; of Belle Vernon; Washington Township; died Saturday; Nov. 17; 2012; in Monongahela Valley Hospital; Carroll Township. Born Oct. 2; 1919; in Imperial; she was a daughter of the late Adam and Anna Kornafeldt Gordesky. A lifelong resident of the Belle Vernon area; Mrs. Kroskie was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church; a retired cafeteria cook at the former Belmar Junior High School; member of the Naomi Club; member and past president of the Polka Ambassadors; was active at the Center on the Hill senior center; Fairhope; was an avid bowler and belonged to several Valley leagues; and organized numerous trips for senior citizens. She is survived by two daughters and son-in-law; Jeanne and George Spisak; of Roscoe; and Stella Marie Kroskie; of Fairhope; son-in-law; Kent Miller; of Belle Vernon; seven grandchildren; Ken Miller; Jon Miller; Terri Bartosik; Kris Schmidt; Steve Spisak; Dianne Flament and Raena Cullen; and nine great-grandchildren; Kenny Miller; John Miller; Ashley Schmidt; Jay Cullen; Justin Cullen; Nolan Miller; Cameron Miller; Nick Gaetano and Julie Gaetano. She was preceded in death by her husband; Frank Fats Kroskie; a daughter; Mary Ann Miller; and numerous brothers and sisters.
