DOROTHY (SALVATRICE) A.LABRASCA CARROZZA
Dorothy A. Labrasca Carrozza; 91; of North Belle Vernon; died Monday; Feb. 10; 2014; at 12:08 p.m. at LaFayette Manor; Uniontown. Born Aug. 25; 1922; in Chicago; Ill.; she was the daughter of the late Andy and Rose Russo Labrasca. A resident of North Belle Vernon; Mrs. Carrozza was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church; owned and operated the former Villa Nova; Monessen; was a member of the former St. Sebastian Legion of Mary; the former Ladies Guild; former member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas; Belle Vernon Court 1522; former member of Belle Vernon American Legion Post 659 Ladies Auxiliary; helped deliver meals on wheels and was a member of the Good Sam’s Camping Club. She is survived by son and daughter-in-law; Peter P. and Beth Carrozza of Mount Dora; Fla.; two daughters and sons-in-law; Rosemary and Kenneth White of Normalville; and Angela and Robert Bernardo of Columbia; S.C.; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; Peter P. Carrozza Sr. on Aug. 17; 2010; two brothers; Russell Labrasca and Michael Labrasca; and a sister; Angeline Tretter. Visitation will be held 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATIONS; Family Owned and Operated; 626 Broad Ave.; Belle Vernon; 724-929-6183. Prayer service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home followed by funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. Msgr. Roger A. Statnick; pastor; as celebrant. Interment will take place in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Members of St. Sebastian Church will pray the rosary for the departed soul of Dorothy Carrozza Wednesday at 3 p.m. in the funeral home. PETER P. CARROZZA SR.
Peter P. Carrozza Sr.; 89; of North Belle Vernon; died Tuesday; Aug. 17; 2010; at 9:35 p.m. at Mon Valley Care Center; Carroll Township. Born April 12; 1921; in McKeesport; he was the son of the late Dominic and Maria Giannea Carrozza. A resident of Belle Vernon for the past 65 years; Mr. Carrozza was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church; where he sang in the church choir. He was a life member and past officer of the North Belle Vernon Fire Department; was a 3rd Degree Knight and past Grand Knight of the Belle Vernon Knights of Columbus Council 3026; life member of the Belle Vernon American Legion Post 659; Belle Vernon VFW Post 699; National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association (NARFE); MARS; Belle Vernon and Fayette City Golden Age Assembly; sang with the Mon Valley Barbershoppers singing group; volunteered for Meals on Wheels; and earned his GED in 1997; at the age of 76. Peter was a veteran of World War II; having served with the U.S. Army in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater with the 411th Engineer Battalion. He was employed at Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Monessen Plant; and later owned and operated the Villa Nova Restaurant and the Carrozza Beauty Salon; both in Monessen. He later retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 1979 with 13 years of service. He is survived by his wife; Dorothy A. Labrasca Carrozza; to whom he was married 65 years; son and daughter-in-law; Peter P. and Beth Carrozza; of Mount Dora; Fla.; two daughters and sons-in-law; Rosemary and Kenneth White; of Normalville; and Angela and Robert Bernardo; of Carroll Township; five grandchildren; Allison Hornback; Peter Jaklitsch; Natalie Blair; Gina Bernardo and Daniel Bernardo; four great-grandchildren; Rachel Hornback; Brandon Hornback; Silas Blair and Justus Blair; brother and sister-in-law; Anthony and Angie Carrozza; of Lititz; two sisters and brother-in-law; Eleanor Patounas; of Lancaster; and Elaine and Ken Miller; of Christiana. He was preceded in death by four brothers; Raymond; Henry; Robert and Nick Carrozza. Visitation will be held Thursday; Aug. 19; from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the LEONARD J. PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME; Family Owned and Operated; 626 Broad Ave.; Belle Vernon (724) 929-6183. Prayer service will be held Friday; Aug. 20; at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home; followed by Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. Lawrence L.
