Ruth Brown; 94; of; Washington Township; Belle Vernon; died Tuesday; Feb. 2; 2010; in Nevaeh Cove PCH; Charleroi. She was born Nov. 13; 1915; in Rostraver Township; daughter of the late Benjamin F. Warner; Sr. and the late Emma J. Barker Warner. She was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Fayette City; where she was organist for over 50 years. She worked for Nix Optical in Charleroi until she retired at the age of 79. She won many first and second place ribbons at the Fayette County Fair for her crocheted items; especially her beautiful afghans. Surviving are 2 sisters; Dorothy Reich; of Charleroi; Evelyn Paulman; of Belle Vernon; brother; George Warner and wife; Martha; of Independence; Mo. Also survived by 22 nieces and nephews; and numerous great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; James T. Brown; one sister; Edythe Warner; and three brothers Arthur; Benjamin; Jr.; and Charles Warner. Charles Hale; 61; of (Brownstown) Fayette City; went to his eternal rest Monday; Nov. 30; 2009; at his late home with his loving and caring brother; James Hale; at his bedside. He was born April 17; 1948; in Charleroi; the son of the late Walter and Mary Ann Osborne Hale. He was a retired steel worker employed at the Allenport plant of Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel Co. He is survived by a son; Joshua; and Fiance; Julia ; of Brownsville; Pa.; a grandson; Caleb Hale; and one brother; James; and wife; Jan Hale; of (Brownstown) Fayette City. ALFRED A. FERRARI
Alfred A. Ferrari; 87; of Speers; died Sunday; June 8; 2008; in Washington County Health Center. He was born Jan. 31; 1921; in Vesta; son of the late Domenico and Assunta Orsucci Ferrari. He was a member of Mary Mother of the Church Parish of Charleroi; was vice president of the Mon Valley Progress Council since 1965 and was instrumental in the building of the Mon/Fayette Expressway. Mr. Ferrari was retired as General Manager of Dravo Corp. Keystone Division in Charleroi. Surviving are one daughter; Emma Jean Ferrari; one grandson; George Scott Procko; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by his former wife; Catherine Cosner Ferrari; five brothers; Charles; Reno; Nello; William and Albert Ferrari; and five sisters; Carobina Niccolai; Minnie Mazzie; Charlotte Pardiny; Lena Mazzei; and Jean Pantaleo. Delma Stofan; 92; of North Belle Vernon; died Thursday; April 2; 2009; in Mon Valley Hospital after a short illness. A daughter of the late John and Sabatina Rose Feola Trozzo; she was born in Belle Vernon on Feb. 2; 1917. Delma was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church; the Golden Agers and the former Catholic Daughters of the Americas. A graduate of Belle Vernon High School in 1933; she worked for many years at the former Belle Vernon Glass Factory; Yencik’s Market and the current Duritza’s Market; until her retirement in 1982. Survivors include one daughter; Carole Stofan; of Belle Vernon; one son and daughter-in-law; Barry and Ellie Stofan; of Pinehurst; N.C.; two granddaughters and grandsons-in-law; Kimberly and James Richards; of Peachtree City; Ga.; and Sheri and John Lex; of Davie; Fla.; one grandson; Paul Stofan; of Deerfield Beach; Fla.; one granddaughter-in- law; Penny Stofan; of Liberty; N.C.; four great-grandchildren; Dillon; Jamie; Zachary and Jordyn Richards; two nieces; Joni Kelley; of Belle Vernon; and Pat Smith; of Delaware; three nephews; Lee Wallace; of Harpers Ferry; W.Va.; Larry Tomayko; of Virginia; and David Tomayko; of Georgia; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
