Ernie ‘Rep’ Reppert; 81; of Belle Vernon; passed away Wednesday; December 28; 2011 peacefully in Mon Valley Hospital. A son of the late Paul C. and Mytle Zundel Reppert ; he was born on November 29; 1930. Mr. Reppert was protestant by faith and served in the US Army during the Korean War from 1952 to 1954. He retired in 1986 from the Monessen Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Company where he had served as President of the United Steelworkers; local union 1229; for nine years. Ernie was an elected supervisor for Washington Township from 1984 to 1990 and was a member and current President of the Centerville Sportsmans Club. Survivors include his wife of 56 years; Donna Melvin Reppert; one daughter; Diane Paris of Belle Vernon; three sons and two daughters-in-law; Dan and Renee Reppert of Belle Vernon; Kevin Reppert of McMurray and Todd and Laura Reppert of Belle Vernon; nine grandchildren; Curtis Reppert and his wife Kendra; Nikki Reppert; Megan and Neil Paris; Alysha and Janelle Reppert and Ty; Kylie and Kori Reppert; three great-grandchildren; Colton; Kaia and Aja Reppert; one brother; Frank Reppert of Belle Vernon; three sisters-in-law; Jerrie Reppert; Doris Reppert and Etta Melvin and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by a son; Terry Reppert in 1976; three sisters; Betty Mutich; Joan Rach and Edna Grace Wilkinson and five brothers; Thurman; John; Howard; Charles and Donald. Theodore Apodiakos; 76; of Monessen; passed away Friday; Sept. 19; 2008; in Jefferson Regional Medical Center. He was born Oct. 30; 1931; in Monessen; a son of the late George and Mary Mermigas Apodiakos. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and had been employed by Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel as a millwright prior to his retirement. A member of St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Church in Monessen; he also was an active member of AHEPA. Mr. Apodiakos loved to hunt; cook and bake for his grandchildren and spend time with his family. He will be fondly remembered by his wife of 48 years; Kalliopi Giourgalis Apodiakos; of Monessen; one daughter and son; Despina Naylor and husband Joel; and George T. Apodiakos and wife Ronalyn; all of Belle Vernon; five grandsons; Alexandros Naylor; Markello Apodiakos; Aundreas Naylor; and Niko and Dimitri Apodiakos; a sister; Catherine Alatsis; of Monessen; and a brother; John Apodiakos and wife Roanne; of Monessen. In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by one sister and brother; Lamona Sfakianos and William Apodiakos. Funeral services will be held Monday; Sept. 22; at 10 a.m. in St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Church; Monessen; with Father Demetrios Gardikes officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
