John P. Holbrook; 85; of Belle Vernon; died Tuesday; Feb. 25; 2014. Born in Belle Vernon on Sept. 21; 1928; he was the son of the late Coy and Bessie (Price) Holbrook. John retired from Fisher Body in machine repair. He was a member of the Antique Automobile Club of America and a charter member of the Mon Valley Chapter of AACA. He had a passion for antiques and antique cars and was Baptist by faith. He is survived by his two sons; John P. (Claire) Holbrook Jr. of Fayette City and Jason Coy Holbrook of Rostraver Township; daughter; Linda (Charles) Armentrout of Rostraver Township; five grandchildren; Joelene Christman; Michael Armentrout; Matthew Armentrout; Amanda Holbrook and Taylor Holbrook; great-grandchild; Cheyenne Christman; sister; Ruth Sterner of Belle Vernon; special friend; Ella Mae Deemer; and great-nephew; Sidney West. Reno R. Moncini; 91; of Monessen; died Sunday; May 1; 2011; in the Washington Hospital. He was born in Monessen on Dec. 4; 1919; the son of the late Arturo and Maria (Toci) Moncini. Mr. Moncini was a lifelong resident of Monessen; and a 1937 graduate of Monessen High School. Reno was a loving husband; father; grandfather; and great-grandfather; who loved to sing; garden; and play golf. He was a veteran of World War II; having served with the U.S. Army in the European and Pacific Theater. Mr. Moncini was a partner with his father and brother Arthur at A. Moncini & Sons Distributing in Monessen. After retiring from the distributorship; he worked for the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue in the inheritance department in Pittsburgh. He was a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church and a 62-year member of the church choirs. He was also a member of the Epiphany Holy Name Society; Knights of Columbus 954; Italian-American Heritage Society; American Legion Post 28; and a life member of the Italian Society of Mutual Aid; Sons of Italy; and Belle Vernon Musical Society. Mr. Moncini was an avid musician; having played clarinet in the high school band and orchestra; and played in numerous bands and civic organizations. He was a charter member of the Valley Chordsmen and; at the present; its oldest barber shopper. He is survived by his wife of 64 years; Rene (Comoglio) Moncini; a daughter and son-in-law; Linda and James Harris; of Deep Creek Lake; Md.; a son and daughter-in-law; Arthur J. and Susan Moncini; of Belle Vernon; three grandchildren; Laura Moncini; Carlin Howe and Ryan (Shannon) Moncini; five great-grandchildren; Morgan and Anthony Coccari; Dominic; Ariana; and Emma Moncini; and by numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by two brothers; Guido and Arthur Moncini Jr.; a sister; Nellie (Moncini) Dreucci; and a niece; Marjorie (Moncini) Dellamalva; who grew up in the family home. C. Edward Donley; 59; of Presto; passed away Friday; Aug. 21; 2009; in Brighten Gardens of Dayton; Ohio. A son of the late Jess and Ethel Ferenz Donley; he was born in North Charleroi on Nov. 26; 1949. A former resident of both Belle Vernon and Pricedale; he had been a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves and had previously been employed by Corning Glass; University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and Applied Technologies. Survivors include a friend; Michael Hetrick of Presto; one brother; James Donley of Mt. Pleasant; and several cousins. A funeral Mass will be held Monday at 10 a.m. in St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church with Rev. Lawrence Manchas as celebrant. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
