John E.Jones;91;of Monessen;died on Saturday;September 11;2010 in Jefferson Medical Center. Born in Morgantown;W.Va.on February 11;1919;he was the son of the late Ira B. and Mabel R.Sargent Jones. He retired from the Railway Express Agency. He was a U.S.Army Veteran of World War II and a member of the Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church of Monessen. He was preceded in death by his wife;Dorothy G.Bender Jones. He is survived by his daughter;Kathleen Anderson of Belle Vernon;two grandsons;John Eric Anderson of Belle Vernon and Jeremy and his wife Sarah Anderson of Harrisburg;two nephews;Ronald and his wife Lorrain Taylor of Brownsville;and Eugene and his wife Jean Taylor of Pleasant Hills;and one niece;Lois Taylor of Fairchance. Josephine L. Nagy; 86; of Monessen; passed away in Monongahela Valley Hospital on Tuesday; Oct. 19; 2010. A daughter of the late Oliver T. and Maude I. Doran Bateman; she was born in Perryopolis. A resident of Monessen since 1954; she was a member of Mary; Mother of the Church Roman Catholic Church; of Charleroi; and had been employed at the former G.C. Murphy Company store in Tri-County Plaza. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law; Vicki and Tom Hess; of Belle Vernon; and Karen and Robert Jurkiewicz; of Charleroi; one son and daughter-in-law; Joseph M. and Cheryl Nagy; of Belle Vernon; one sister; Marjorie Miket; of Whitehall; two grandchildren; Robert Jurkiewicz and his wife; Melissa; of Irwin; and Melanie Nagy; of Belle Vernon; and one great-granddaughter; Addison Jurkiewicz.
