Raymond W. Byers; 83; of Belle Vernon; Rostraver Township; died Wednesday; June 29; 2011; in Westmoreland Regional Hospital. Born in Rostraver Township on June 21; 1928; he was the son of the late William and Mary Byers. Ray was a retired carpenter and was a member of the carpenter’s union. Ray was a good man who enjoyed doing carpentry work; he even built his own home and did many; many jobs for his children in their homes. He loved his family; and together; he and his wife enjoyed their children and grandchildren and they also enjoyed traveling. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He is survived by his wife of 63 years; Laura May (Read) Byers; two sons; William Ray Byers; of Cory Plantation; Maine; and Richard Earl (Judy) Byers; of Woodstock; Va.; two daughters; Ruth Ann (Michael) Dooley; of Wilmington; Ohio; and Mary (Jon) Park; of Medina; Ohio; eight grandchildren; Ransom Byers; Haley (Justin) Hoenke; Nadine Byers; Mitchell Dooley; Christopher Dooley; Alison Dooley; Megan Kimbro and James Kimbro; two step-grandchildren; Emma Park and Courtney Park; and a great-grandson; Finnean Hoenke. In addition to his parents; Ray was preceded in death by his brother; Earl; and three sisters; Martha; Cleo and Alma. Ruth Elizabeth Arnold Wells; 85; of Lynnwood; went to be with the Lord on Tuesday; April 8; 2014; Justine’s Personal Care Home in Roscoe. She was born in Washington; Pa.; on Dec. 24; 1928; to the late Lindsay and Eunice Smith Arnold. Ruth grew up in Wellsburg; W.Va.; and lived in various places until finally settling down in Lynnwood in 1952 to raise her family. Ruth graduated from AGH School of Nursing in 1949 and was employed as an RN at Havencrest Nursing Home. She was a member of the Mon Valley Nurses Club; was a volunteer on CAS (what is now known as the Rostraver/West Newton Ambulance Association); was an usher at the Benedum Center; and was a member of the Fayette City Methodist Church for the past 40 years. In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by her husband; Dr. Samuel J. Wells; DMD; on March 10; 1994. She is survived by four sons and two daughters-in-law; Edwin Wells; DDS and Desiree Wells of Fayette City; Sam and Barbara Wells of Rostraver; Jim Wells of North Belle Vernon and Bob Wells of Severna Park; Md.; a daughter; Laura Wells of Fayette City; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Josephine Levandosky Sivic; 74; of Belle Vernon; Rostraver; died Monday; Aug. 23; 2010; at Jefferson Regional Medical Center; after a brief battle with cancer. Born Jan. 9; 1936; in Rostraver; she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Stephania (Nalepa) Levandosky. A lifelong resident of Rostraver; Mrs. Sivic was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church; was a retired teacher’s aid from Marion School BVA School District; Intermediate Unit and was a homemaker. She is survived by a son; Martin J. Sivic; of Irwin; daughter; Marla Joan Sivic; of Rostraver; brother; Stanley Levandosky; of Arnold City; sister; Marie Megela; of Donora; two grandchildren; Luke Martin and Adam Martin Sivic; both of Irwin; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; Martin Sivic Jr.; Oct. 9; 1994; and a sister; Patricia Lilley. Private visitation and funeral services were held Wednesday; Aug. 25; 2010; with the Rev.
