Robert E. Franks; 71; of Star Junction; passed away suddenly; Wednesday; Jan. 1; 2014. He was born March 14; 1942; in Uniontown; the son of Sara Herrelko and the late Edward Herrelko. He retired from U.S. Steel Irvin Woks after 32 years of service as a mill wright. He was an avid wood worker and he fixed all the broken lawn mowers around the neighborhood. He loved his wife and daughters but the passion of his life were the girls who called him Pappy – his granddaughters; Makayla; Marissa and Alaina. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years; Carol (Fedora) Franks; daughters; Renee Koschock and husband; Chris; of Uniontown; Sherri Jagnow and husband; Buddy; of Slippery Rock; granddaughters; Makayla and Marissa Koschock and Alaina Jagnow; one sister; Judy Swanson and husband; David; of Florida; two brothers; Richard Franks and wife; Sallie; of Hopwood; and Mark Franks of Farmington. He was preceded in death by his stepfather; Edward Herrelko. Rita A. Hasch Pesi; 69; of Belle Vernon (Washington Township); died Saturday; Nov. 7; 2009; at 9:55 p.m. at Uniontown Hospital; Uniontown. Born Jan. 18; 1940; in Monessen; she was the daughter of the late John and Ann Hasch. A resident of Belle Vernon for the past 32 years; Mrs. Pesi was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church; Belle Vernon; and was a homemaker. She is survived by her husband Carl L. Pesi; to whom she was married 49 years; son and daughter-in-law; George and Deneen Pesi of Monessen; daughter and son-in-law; Laura and Richard Jodon of Belle Vernon; brother and sister-in-law; John and Patricia Hasch of Charleroi; sister; Cynthia Thompson of Falls Church; Va.; and three grandchildren; Ashley Pesi; Adam Pesi and Nathan Jodon. She was preceded in death by her son; Carl Thomas Pesi. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the LEONARD J. Carl L. Pesi; 75; of Washington Township; died Wednesday; June 12; 2013; at his home. He was born in Washington Township on April 19; 1938; the son of the late Carl A. Pesi and Ann Krofcheck Pesi. He was a 1956 graduate of Belmar High School and served with the U.S. Army Reserves. Carl was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church; Rostraver Sportsman Association and was a former member of the Mon Valley Home Builders Association. He was an avid sportsman; having enjoyed fishing; hunting and trap shooting. Carl was co-owner and operator of Rems Electric in Monessen for over 25 years. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law; George and Deneen M. Pesi of Monessen; a daughter and son-in-law; Laura and Richard Jodon of Washington Township; brother and sister-in-law; Gene and Mary Pesi of Star Junction; two sisters; Joan DeAngelis of Vanderbilt and Patricia Wisyanski of Fairhope; three grandchildren; Ashley and Adam Pesi; Nathan Jodon; and numerous nieces and nephews.
