Eva D. Pearce; 87; formerly of Rostraver Township; passed away on Saturday; Sept. 26; 2009; in the Pine Lawn Personal Care Home; Houston; Pa. A daughter of the late David LaFayette Schafer and Ida Kratz Schafer; she was born in Pittsburgh on Nov. 20; 1921. She had resided in Rostraver Township since 1959; and was a member of the Bible Baptist Church of Belle Vernon. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law; Lynn and Shirley Parshall; two grandchildren; George Parshall and Roslyn Sutton; and two great-grandchildren; Joseph and Ryan; all of Perryopolis. In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by her husband; George Pearce in 1979; a daughter; Twila Strickler in 1992; and a brother; Edgar Kratz. Jeanne Natalie Thompson; 90; of Belle Vernon; beloved mother; grandmother and great-grandmother; went to be with the Lord on June 1; 2012; in her home; after an extended illness. She was born on July 13; 1921; a daughter of the late Earl Frazier and Dorothy Frazier Baker. In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by her husband; James W. Thompson; on Dec. 31; 1993; and a son; Jeffrey Thompson; on April 4; 1989. Survivors include one sister and brother-in-law; Virginia and George Rylander; of Latrobe; one son and two daughters; Larry (Mollie) Thompson; of Long Branch; Vicki Davis (Paul Resetar); of Belle Vernon; and Jamie (Bradley) Kusman; of Monongahela; and daughter-in-law; Diane Thompson; of Belle Vernon; nine grandchildren; Pamela (John) Yankel; of Fayette City; Jason (Jennifer) Davis; of Belle Vernon; Scott Thompson (Beth Calvano); of Speers; Brett (Dana) Thompson; of Roscoe; Mandy (Brian) Sliva; of Murrysville; Bradley (Kim) Thompson; of Washington; Christopher (Rachel) Thompson; of York; Chad (Roseann) Thompson; of Washington; and Kelly (Jason) Valance; of Coal Center; and 17 great-grandchildren; Shane and Noah Davis; Jenna; Jessa; Hunter; Peyton; Cassandra; Joshua; Ashley; Nash; Tyler; Colby and Gunnar Thompson; Mathieu; Heath and Hayden Sliva and Tristan Valance. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Belle Vernon; and had lived in Belle Vernon for most of her life. She was a member of the Tuesday Evening Civic Club and United Methodist Women. She was an avid reader; wonderful cook and baker; best known for her homemade pies and lasagna; and enjoyed camping and traveling.
