Al Pee Wee Smith;of Pittsburgh;formerly of Monessen;passed away Saturday;Feb..28;2009; on his 58th birthday.Born Feb.28;1951;in Charleroi;he was a son of Frances Mills-Smith;who survives;and the late Albert Skeets Smith. He was a former employee of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel in Monessen and the William Penn Hotel in Pittsburgh. In addition to his mother;he is survived by six sisters;Ethel (Jim) Smith-Diffendal;of Bethel Park;Sgt.Ruth Smith-Cheatham;of Korea;Tina Smith-Bleich;of Monessen;Iris Smith-Madison;of Pittsburgh; Marie (MacArthur) Smith-Braswell;of Waldorf;MD.;and Dyra Smith;of Charleroi;three brothers;Alfred Smith;of Monongahela;Kim Smith;of Erie;and Peck Lamont Smith;of Belle Vernon;and a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to his father;he was preceded in death by two brothers;Lawrence Bunny Smith and William Robert Smith. Family and Friends Will be received Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m. in Union Baptist Church;670 McMahon Ave.;Monessen. Additional viewing will be held in the Church on Friday;March 6;from 10 to 11 a.m.;the hour of service with Minister Millie Thomas officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
