Steve Ostoich; 87; formerly of Donora; died Thursday; Nov. 20; 2008; at 1:30 a.m. in the Washington County Health Center; Washington; Pa. Born Dec. 12; 1920; in Donora; he was the son of the late Guy and Milka (Herock) Ostoich. He was a member of St. Nicholas Orthodox Church in Donora and a retired laborer from U.S. Steel; Irvin Works in West Mifflin. He is survived by his son-in-law; Michael R. Kovalak; of Irwin; one niece; Janice Hines and husband James R.; of Langhorne; Pa.; two nephews; Keith Martinez and wife Deborah Jane; of Export; and Kenneth Manko; of Moody; Maine; and one sister; Caroline Martinez; of Donora. He was preceded in death by his wife; Louise A. (Cecconi) Ostoich; his daughter; Elaine L. Kovalak; on Sept. 28; 1999; and one sister; Tina Manko. Visitation will be held Saturday; Nov. 22; from 11 a.m. to noon; followed by funeral services with the Rev. Igor Soroka at noon in the LEONARD J. PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME; family owned and operated; 626 Broad Ave.; Belle Vernon (724-929-6183). Interment will take place in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Carmen Beery Tueche; 95; of Monessen; died Friday; May 3; 2013. Born April 3; 1918; in Monessen; she was the beloved daughter of the late Wilbert O. and Nancy Layton Beery. Her mother was from Layton and her dad was from Augusta; W.Va. A lifelong resident of Monessen; she grew up at 424 McKee Ave.; and in 1934 married Harry J. Tueche Jr.; of 425 Delaware St. Carmen enjoyed a full life and was blessed with excellent health. She was a lifetime and active member of the First Christian Church of Monessen and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star; Chapter 205 for over 70 years. In 1968 Carmen and her late husband; Harry; hosted a reunion for the Tueche family which attracted guests from numerous states and France. Beginning in 1988 and until last summer; she hosted annual Beery family reunions at her home on State Road which were always well attended. In 2004; Carmen and Harry celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary at a party thrown by their children and grandchildren; and attended by over 100 guests. The highlight of the party was provided by her talented nieces; Gwen Bow Sowdon and Nancy Bow King; who both sang personalized songs. To celebrate her 90th Birthday she invited over 70 guests to a reception and dinner at the Mon Valley Country Club. She also enjoyed visiting her grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and nieces in eastern Pennsylvania; Virginia and Hilton Head; S.C.; and her numerous cousins and friends in Florida. She also appreciated her large circle of friends including her prayer group and bridge club. Her generosity knew no bounds. She always remembered the birthdays and holidays of her family and wide circle of friends. She is survived by her two sons; Jerry Tueche and wife; Marjorie; of Lititz; Pa.; and Harry “Beezy” Tueche of Rochester Hills; Mich.; three grandchildren; Michele Waite; Jane Karnowski; and Jon Tueche; one stepgrandson; Edward Coccari; five great-grandchildren; Taylor Friend; Sophie and Ella Karnowski; and Weston and Christian Mountz; two step-great-grandchildren; Hedy and Jade Popson. In addition to her husband; Harry; she was preceded in death by her sisters; Gladys Beery Hamil and Elosie Beery Bow; a nephew; Richard Bow; daughter-in-law; Mary Ann Tueche and a stepgranddaughter; Donna Popson. The family wishes to extend their appreciation for the loving care provided by Reverend Conrad Auel; Doctors Douglas and Elizabeth Pepper; the staff of Monongahela Valley Hospital and Haven Crest Nursing Center.
