Freeda Mae Steele-Skibo-Cheek; passed away peacefully on Aug. 29; 2012; at 12:45 a.m. at her home in Tempe; Ariz.; where she lived since 1995 with her son; Jeffrey Bruce Skibo. She was born in Jefferson; Pa.; Oct. 13; 1925; to Olive Edith (Wells) Steele and spent most of her life in the Mon Valley. In addition to her son; Jeffrey; and Edgar Esteban; she also leaves behind a daughter; Darla Jeanne and her husband; Mark Altemara of Belle Vernon; son; James Gary Skibo and wife; Linda; of Fayette City; and son; Brian Vincent Skibo and wife; Joy; of Ormand Beach; Fla. She is survived by six grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and her brother; Elmer Leo Steele of Roscoe. Freda was the wife of the late James Edward Skibo and her late second husband; Earl B. Cheek of Canonsburg. Private funeral service were held and she was laid to rest with her late husband; Earl B. Cheek; at the Belle Vernon Cemetery.

A daughter of the late Harry and Elizabeth (Turnbull) Sethman; she was born in Belle Vernon on March 27; 1938. A member of the First United Methodist Church and the Red Hat Society; both of Belle Vernon; Fonnie lived most of her later years in Belle Vernon and worked as a home health aide for Albert Gallatin Nursing. Survivors include one daughter; Michele Canzonieri; of Belle Vernon; three sons and two daughters-in-law; Jim and Sue Weaver; of Oakton; Va.; Dennis Weaver; of Belle Vernon; and Dwayne and Jane Weaver; of Parkton; Md.; two sisters; Hannah Bennett; of Belle Vernon; and Martha Warner; of Springfield; Mo.; 11 grandchildren; Josh; Jamie; Aaron; Tim; Dan; Madeline and Natalie Weaver; and Anthony; Allen; Angelica and Eric Canzonieri; and one great-grandchild; Dominic Canzonieri. Dolores Rose Buck; 83; of Belle Vernon; formerly of Victory Hill; Monongahela; died Wednesday; Nov. 13; 2013; in Nevaeh Cove; Charleroi. She was born Sept. 16; 1930; in Hamtramck; Mich.; the daughter of the late Stanley and Mary Nosek Jankowski. She attended the Christian Missionary Alliance in Fayette City where she volunteered her time with the children’s activities and enjoyed going on bus trips to Lancaster. Dolores spent a lot of her time working at the flower shop with her daughter; Julie; and being a care giver to all of her family. She loved animals; shopping; cooking and baking. She is survived by her daughter; Julie and her husband; Jack Issi; of Belle Vernon; brother; Stanley and his wife; Louise Jankowski; of Calif.; three sisters; Eleanor and her husband; Joe Miller; of Hopewell Township; Marian and her husband; Herbert Ballas; of Meadowlands; Shirley and her husband; Robert BonAnno; of Washington; granddog; Sammo; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
