Julia “Jay” Bartolozzi; 96; of Dunlevy; crossed peacefully into Heaven on Good Friday; March 29; 2013; in the Dunlevy Personal Care Gardens. She was born Aug. 22; 1916; in Charleroi; the daughter of the late John and Mary Hamonko Katinsky. Julia was past president of the Dunlevy Ladies Auxiliary; a member of Mary; Mother of the Church Parish and local card clubs. She made everything by hand from cooking to baking and clothing; her pies and ravioli were legendary. She was a wonderful homemaker and master of all it entailed. Some of her favorite pastimes were playing cards; fishing; gardening and gambling with many happy trips to Reno; Las Vegas; Canada; Florida and throughout California into Mexico. Her most favorite things were family dinners at home and her Russian Christmas traditions; we have lost the last of her “Great Generation” and she will be sorely missed and lovingly remembered. Mrs. Bartolozzi is survived by her sons; Frank Bartolozzi and wife; Betty; and Craig Bartolozzi and wife; Beth; of Dunlevy; her daughter; Carole Chacko and husband; Rich; of Carmichael; Calif.; grandchildren; Pamela; Julie; Georgia; Richard; Matthew and Melina; great-grandchildren; Bailey; Alex; Jonathan; Robert; Brenda; Grace; Gianna; Caitlyn and Lauren. In addition to her parents; Mrs. Bartolozzi was preceded in death by her husband of 75 years; Dewey Bartolozzi (2009); a sister; Anna Bartolozzi; and two brothers; Toby Katinsky and Michael Cutton. Dewey Chirp Bartolozzi of Dunlevy; who would have been 102 on Sunday; died Friday; March 6; 2009; in Adult Assisted Living; Dunlevy. He was born March 8; 1907; in Dunlevy; a son of the late Santi and Palmira Francesconi Bartolozzi. Mr. Bartolozzi was a member of Mary; Mother of the Church Parish in Charleroi and the Guiseppi Garibaldi in Dunlevy. He was an avid gardener; hunter and fisherman. He retired from the Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Co.; Allenport plant; in 1971. He is survived by his wife; Julia Katinsky Bartolozzi; with whom they celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary on July 5; 2008. He is the beloved father of two sons; Frank (Betty) Bartolozzi of Dunlevy and Craig (Beth) Bartolozzi of Dunlevy; one daughter; Carole (Richard) Chacko of Sacramento; Calif.; six grandchildren: Pamela Neihaus; Julie Seighman; Mathew and Melina Bartolozzi; Georgia Kern and Richard Chacko; nine great-grandchildren: Bailey; Alex; Jonathan; Robert; Brenda; Grace; Gianna; Caitlyn and Lauren; and beloved nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents; he is preceded in death by a son; David Bartolozzi; three brothers; Armand Mundo; Albeno Finnigan; and Nello Bartolozzi.
