Dorothy M. Cefala; 83; of Austin; Texas; formerly of Belle Vernon; died Tuesday; Feb. 10; 2009; in St. David’s South Austin Hospital. A daughter of the late William and Rose Catherine Lask Huffman; she was born in Donora on April 8; 1925. She was a member of St. Michael Antiochian Orthodox Church of Monessen and was a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary of both the Belle Vernon American Legion and the Belle Vernon Fire Company No. 2; the former ladies bowling league of St. Sebastian Church and the Golden Agers. Years ago; Dorothy was active in Girl Scouting activities and spent winters in Texas. She moved to Texas permanently 12 years ago to be closer to her daughter and enjoyed many friends and activities; including dining out; traveling and amateur photography. Dorothy was also active with the South Austin Senior Activity Center; where she loved the Wednesday and Friday night dances; as well as taking many trips around Texas with the group. It was here that she met her special friend; Joe Dunn; with whom she enjoyed many happy times. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law; Carol and James Huntley; of Austin; special friend; Joe Dunn; her half sister; Elaine Verrett; sister-in-law; Adeline Huffman; of Chicago; Ill.; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by her husband; William J. Cefala; in 1992; and two brothers; William Huffman; formerly of New Eagle; and Harry Huffman; formerly of Chicago. Agnes D. Petro; 80; of Belle Vernon (Rostraver Township); died Sunday; Feb. 8; 2009; in Jefferson Regional Medical Center. Born in McKeesport on June 7; 1928; she was the daughter of the late John and Mary Dzuro. Agnes was a secretary for the Belle Vernon Area School District; where she retired after 20 years. She was a member of the Church of St. Anne in Rostraver Township; where she was active in the Christian Mother’s; helped with the bulletin and was a money counter. Agnes was a long- time volunteer at the Rostraver Township Public Library and also volunteered at the Rostraver Elementary School. During World War II she volunteered with the Civil Air Patrol. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law; David M. and Patty Petro; of Fort Mill; S.C.; her daughter and son-in-law; Denise P. and Jeff Lewellyn; of Crosscreek Township; her grandson; Dylan Petro; two brothers; Joseph Zuro; of Gulf Breeze; Fla.; and George Dzuro; of Glassport; and one sister; Mary Dzuro; of McKeesport. In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by her husband; Charles M. Petro; on Aug. 20; 1996; with whom she was married for 48 years; and a sister; Ellen Dzuro. THOMAS H. ( TUCKER ) WILKINSON
Thomas H. ‘Tucker’ Wilkinson; 91; of Belle Vernon; died Monday; Feb. 2; 2009. A son of the late George and Valeria Wallace Wilkinson; he was born in Belle Vernon on June 20; 1917. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Belle Vernon; Mon Valley F&AM Lodge No. 643; where he was a past secretary; was a member and secretary of the former IOOF (Independent Order of Odd Fellows); and he served on the board and as the first secretary of the Municipal Authority of Belle Vernon. Tucker was a cutter at the former American Window Glass Company in Belle Vernon and retired from A.S.G. Industries of Jeannette; where he was the process superintendent. He loved golfing and ‘flying to Elizabeth’ and served during World War II in the U.S. Army; 49th Infantry; 8th Armored Division. Survivors include his wife of 68 years; Edna Grace Reppert Wilkinson; and many nieces and nephews; including Rebecca Mutich; Donna Santoro and Charles Mutich; many great-nieces and great-nephews; and several brothers-in- law and sisters-in-law. The last surviving member of his immediate family; Mr. Wilkinson was preceded in death by two sisters; Marguarite Guder and Betty Gardner Michener.
