Georgia Mae Hissom Wisyanski; 71; of Fairhope; Belle Vernon; passed away Tuesday; Feb. 24; 2009; at her home; after almost a two-year battle with ovarian cancer; with her husband by her side. She was born Feb. 1; 1938; in Washington Township; a daughter of the late Elmer Hissom and the late Ruth Winters Hissom. She was a member of Community of Christ Church; Fayette City. She enjoyed reading; sewing; cooking and going to the Longaberger Factory. She sewed for many people in the area. She is survived by her loving husband; Warner Wisyanski; daughter; Maureen Wisyanski Hughes and husband; Edgar; of Belle Vernon; two grandsons; whom she idolized; Paul Lauteri and Nathan Lauteri and wife; Crystal; four great-grandchildren; Jacob; Jurnee; Selina and Phillip; two sisters; Olive Vivio; of Flatwoods; and Claire Smith; of McClellandtown; eight brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; numerous nieces; nephews and cousins; and much extended family. She was preceded in death by brother; Kenneth Hissom; in 2002. Andrew R. Wassilchalk; 58; of Bentleyville; died Saturday; Feb. 21; 2009; in his home. He was born Oct. 4; 1950; in Charleroi; a son of Kathleen (Daughterty) Wassilchalk; who survives and resides in Pricedale (Rostraver Township); and the late Andrew Wassilchalk; who died Dec. 27; 1968. He was a 1968 graduate of Belle Vernon High School and enjoyed theatre; going to flea markets; and traveling. Mr. Wassilchalk worked in the Production Division of Corning Glass; Charleroi; for 36 1/2 years; and retired in 2006. He was a member of Holy Trinity Russian Orthodox Church; the Belgian and Russian clubs; all in Charleroi; and Charleroi American Legion Post No. 22. Ms. Davis was a member of Lynnwood Lutheran Church of Washington Township and was a member of the Belle Vernon Area High School Class of 2007; where she was active in track; school chorus; and also had a love for horses. She was also a sales clerk at Bon-Ton at Uniontown Mall. ELMER E. BAMFORD
Elmer E. Bamford; 104; of Rostraver Township; died Friday; Feb. 13; 2009; in Washington Commons Personal Care in Bridgeville. Born in Rostraver Township on April 9; 1904; he was the son of the late James and Anna (Luce) Bamford. He had a great interest in flying; having been born only four months after the first historic flight of the Wright Brothers. His interest developed after witnessing an emergency landing on the family farm in 1924; and from then on flying became his passion. Mr. Bamford eventually bought his own plane; which he would use to take people for rides and even perform stunts; such as wing walking. In addition to flying; he enjoyed hunting; fishing; traveling to South Padre Island; Texas for 37 consecutive winters; and Mr. Bamford was still driving his car at the age of 101. He was retired from USX; Irvin Works; where he was a foreman. Mr. Bamford was a member of Fells United Methodist Church in Rostraver Township. He is survived by his son; David E. Bamford; of Pittsburgh; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years; Edith H.
