James L. Jim Carson; 83; of Chicago; was called by the Lord to be with the angels on Tuesday; Oct. 12; 2010; in his Chicago home. Jim was born Feb. 13; 1927; in Pricedale; the son of the late Evelyn Jones and Elliott Finley Carson Sr. A Rostraver High School graduate; Jim worked in the coal mines in Bentleyville. Jim also played baseball all around the Mon Valley Arae; and was a faithful member of Pleasant Green A.M.E. in Pricedale. Jim moved to Chicago and was employed by the Belt Railway for over 30 years before retiring. While in Chicago; Jim played ball for the Celtics; and was a member of the John Jones Lodge No. 7 P.H.A. After baseball; Jim found the game of golf; which he loved and was a member of the Chicago Executive Golf Club. Jim was loved by many people. He was known for telling stories about Pricedale; and was always straight up with people. He would tell it like it is and wanted people to be up front with him. Jim is survived by his daughter; Linda M. Carson; of Chicago; his son; James E. Carson (Tahndrea); of Chicago; his stepson; DeWayne Holbrook; of Country Club Hills; Ill.; his sister; Ida Gordan; four grandchildren; Keith L. Carson Sr.; of San Bernardino; Calif.; Deanna Jones; Denise Hardison and Deon Carson Sr.; all of Texas; 16 great-grandchildern; his sister-in-law; Izora Carson; four nieces; Evelyn Gordon; MaryBeth Parker; Marsha L. Carson and Marilyn J. Carson; one great-nephew; Keshaun Scott; a friend and companion; Fauline Wesby; and a host of relatives and friends. In addition to his parents; Jim was preceded in death by three brothers; John; Floyd; and Elliott Finley Carson Jr. Friends will be received on Tuesday; Oct. 19; from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Antioch Baptist Church; Henry Street; Belle Vernon. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Clifford Carter; pastor of Antioch; officiating. Interment will be held at Belle Vernon Cemetery. Service entrusted by the WILLIAM R. Dorothy Rosie Hewitt;a resident of Kirkland for 25 years;died Dec.9;2002;at Evergreen Hospital in Kirkland. She was 90. Mrs.Hewitt was born July 27;1912;in Pittsburgh;Pa.;where she graduated from high school in 1929. In 1939;she married Edward Hewitt in Pittsburgh. Mrs.Hewitt worked in the accounting department of the Wilson Jones Co.in New Jersey before relocating to the Eastside in 1977. She was a member of Overlake Christian Church;volunteered for 14 years at Group Health Hospital in Redmond and was an avid bridge player. Her husband died in 1965. Survivors include her daughter;Shirley Price of Kirkland;a son;Thomas Hewitt of Woodbury;Conn.;two grandchildren and one great-grandson. No service will be held. Clara M. Bolden; 72; of Monessen; peacefully went to be with the Lord and Savior on Sunday; Sept. 26; 2010; in Monongahela Valley Hospital. Born July 15; 1938; in Monessen; she was the daugher of the late Minister Edwards Scott and Mildred Couzzins Scott. Clara was a resident of the Monongahela Valley area for all of her life. She was a member of the Union Baptist Church; Monessen; where she was an active worker wherever needed. She was a former choir member and deaconess. Clara was an excellent cook and baker and was loved by all who came in contact with her. She had an infectious laugh that was contagious. Clara was married to the late Charles Bolden Sr. She leaves to cherish her memory; one son; Charles (Rachael) Bolden Jr.; of Monessen; two daughters; Deborah M. Arnold; of San Diego; Calif.; and Kathy Whitsie Bolden; of Monessen; one sister; Barbara Jean (William) Benson; of Landover; Md.; two nieces; Leslie (James) Bennett; of New York; N.Y.; and Paula (Anthony) DuBois; of Washington; D.C.; a very special friend; William F. Arthur H. McGraw Jr.; 59; of McKeesport; departed this life on Tuesday; September 7; 2010; in UPMC Shadyside. He was born October 19; 1950; in Pittsburgh; and was the son of Dolores B. Phillips McGraw of McKeesport; and the late Arthur H. McGraw Sr. He was the owner and operator of the Quality Touch Construction Company. Surviving are his loving mother; daughter Sasha Hauser of Richland; Wash.; sisters Sharon McGraw of Ft.
