Brian Joseph Johnson 41 of Belle Vernon on Wednesday September 4 2013 in his home. Born in Charleroi on January 11 1972 he was the son of the late Daryl Lee and and Barbara F. Murray Johnson. Besides his parents he was proceeded in death by his brother David Lee Johnson. Private funeral services will be held and burial will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.

William J. Lutes; 87; of Stockdale; passed away peacefully on Wednesday; Sept. 4; 2013. Born July 11; 1926; he was the son of the late William Sr. and Verna Sapko Lutes. He was a member of the Holy Ghost Byzantine Catholic Church in Charleroi. In the early 1940s William was an outstanding athlete at Charleroi High School where he played baseball and football. After serving in the Navy for two years; he played minor league baseball for six years for Jacksonville; Pawtucket; Tidewater and several other teams in the South Atlantic League. He then went on to work for Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel in Allenport for 36 years before retiring in 1990. William is survived by his loving wife of 63 years; Rose Molek Lutes; sons; Mark and Gary Lutes of Stockdale; daughter; Judy Baker and husband; Craig; of Stockdale; grandchildren; Dr. Jeannie Baker Piccini and husband; Tony; of Pittsburgh and Sara Baker and friend; Tom Fess; of South Park; great-grandchildren; Tori and Mike Flaherty; sisters; Anna Mae Triglia of Clairton and Betty DiBiase of Cape Coral; Fla.; and sister-in-law; Marlene Lutes of Bentleyville. In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by a brother; Bob Lutes; brothers-in-law; Tony Triglia and Harry DiBiase; and a nephew; Dan DiBiase. William was a very loving; caring; generous man who took care of his family. He will be sadly missed by many relatives in the Sapko and Molek families. Retired Army Staff Sgt. Frederick Causer; 72; of Scottdale-Smithton Road; Alverton; died unexpectedly; yet peacefully; Tuesday morning; Aug. 27; 2013; at his residence. He was born June 26; 1941; in Summerhill; Cambria County; a son of the late Samuel and Ann Orgvan Causer; who died in 1955 and 1999; respectively. He was a graduate of Charleroi High School; class of 1959; and was Catholic by faith. Fred was a proud American serving 20 years in the Army from 1959-1979 during the Vietnam War as an enlisted man. He served four continuous years in the Mekong Delta as a telecommunication specialist; where he was awarded three Good Conduct Medals from 1959-1979; The National Defense Medal; 1959; Vietnam Service Medal; Cross of Gallantry with Palm and 50 Campaign Medals from 1966-1968. Following his 20-year career in the Army; he was employed by the Department of Defense; Fort Huachuca; Ariz.; as a telecommunications expert from 1979-1994; attaining the rank of GS-12. He was a loving and caring father; who raised his daughters as a single parent; from the time his girls were a young age; and cherished the quality time they spent together. He enjoyed tending to his beautiful gardens and utilizing his landscaping talents at his residence. Fred’s memory will live forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved him; especially his loving daughters; Victoria D. and Christina J. Causer; both of Alverton; his two sons; Jimmie Causer; of Hinesville; Ga.; and Frederick Causer Jr.; of Seaside; Ore.; and his brother; Samuel Causer; of Perryopolis. In addition to his parents; Fred was preceded in death by two sons; Johnny A. and Danny Causer; and three brothers; Edward; Robert and Richard Causer. Shirley M. Grogan; 75; of Monessen; went to join her Heavenly Father on Friday; Aug. 23; 2013. Born Jan. 10; 1938; in Brooklyn; N.Y.; raised in Donora; she was the daughter of the late Albert and Eleanor Neal. In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by her husband; Richard D. Grogan Sr.; daughter; Lynn Grogan-Chaney; son; Albert (Albie) Grogan; sister; Mary Lou Bowman and brother; Ronald Towler. She was a lifetime member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church and a true soldier for the Lord. She was a faithful friend to all. Louise I. McCullum; 83; of Arnold City; passed away Wednesday; Aug. 21; 2013. Born May 6; 1930; in Pricedale; she was the daughter of the late William and Margaret Jones. In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by her husband; David McCullum; brothers; Clarence; Anthony and William Jones; sister-in-law; Mattie Ora Jones; niece; Antonia Lawson; and nephew; Michael Jones. Louise was a member of Macedonia Holiness Church in Arnold City under the leadership of the Rev. Pastor Kathleen Wilson. She was a loving and caring person; always with a smile. Louise loved her family. NANCY J. PROVANCE
Nancy J. Provance; 68; of Belle Vernon; passed away on Wednesday; August 21; 2013; in Washington County Health Center. A daughter of the late Paul and Helen Addison Provance; she was born on December 28; 1944. Nancy was a member of the First United Methodist Church and she worked for 23 years as a nurse’s aide and in central supply at the former Charleroi-Monessen Hospital before her retirement in 1987. Survivors include her sister; Jackie Pover; of Monongahela; and her niece; Paula Willman and her husband; Jack; of Monongahela. She was preceded in death by her sister; JoAnn O’Neil in 1996 and her brother; Frank Provance in 2008. Visitation and funeral services are private at the request of the family.
