Roderick T. Booty Jones Jr.; 39; of Monessen; passed away Wednesday; Dec. 4; 2013. Born April 14; 1974; in Charleroi; he was the son of Carla (Gregory) Davis and Roderick Jones Sr.; all of Monessen; who survive. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents; Dennis and Lynn Jones and Katherine and Samuel Mason; and maternal grandparent; Rosemae Crawford. Affectionately called Booty ; he was a fun-loving person; he knew everybody and always made you laugh. RAYMOND L. DUNLAP
Raymond L. Dunlap; 92; formerly of Fayette City; passed away; Monday; Dec. 2; 2013 in Mon Valley Hospital with his family by his side. Born in Vandergrift on Aug. 30; 1921; he was the son of Anna Kenner Dunlap Wilson; Ray Dunlap and the stepson of Clarence Wilson. Ray had been a member of the Fayette City Christian and Missionary Alliance Church; the Fayette City American Legion and an honorary member of the Naomi Club. He and his wife; June; enjoyed playing cards at the Center on the Hill and spent many wonderful years with their children and grandchildren at their camp at Confluence. He had been employed by the former B and O and the Donora Southern Railroad; and later retired from the Allenport Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Company. He also served in the Civilian Conservation Corps before entering the Army; where he served his country during World War II in the 101st Airborne Division; jumping on D-Day and later into Holland. He walked in Betzstone; Belgium and received a Bronze Star for the Battle of the Bulge. Survivors include his wife; the love of his life for 68 years; June McCrory Dunlap; whom he married at Fort Dix; N.J.; on June 13; 1945; one daughter; Jill Layhue of Belle Vernon; with whom he made his home; one son and daughter-in-law; Jeffrey L. and Gloria Dunlap of Canfield; Ohio; a son-in-law; James Layhue; two grandchildren; Mark (Krista) Dunlap of Austintown; Ohio; and Brian Layhue of Pittsburgh; and one great-grandchild; Mason A. Dunlap. In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by a sister; Lois Dorinsky; and a brother; Sonny Wilson. Jereme Joseph Dudzinski; 32; of Belle Vernon; died unexpectedly; Wednesday; Nov. 27; 2013; surrounded by his loving family. Born in Pittsburgh on Oct. 25 1981; he was a Class of 2000 graduate of Belle Vernon High School and a Class of 2004 graduate of Duquesne University. He was a star football player at Belle Vernon and continued his football career at Duquesne University. He was employed by ISS Facility Services at Heinz Field as facility manager. Jereme’s greatest enjoyment in his life was spending time and doing things with his family and friends; especially his niece; Ava; and his nephew; Nathan. Jereme enjoyed sports as a participant; coach and fan. He attended Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church where he was a very active member. There are no words that can be said as to how much he meant to and will be missed by his family and friends. Thomas F. Snyder; 84; of Belle Vernon; Washington Township; died Tuesday; Nov. 26; 2013; at 8:07 p.m. at Monongahela Valley Hospital; Carroll Township. Born March 8; 1929; in Ambridge; he was the son of the late Charles Buzz and Marcella Robinski Snyder. Mr. Snyder was a resident of Washington Township since 1965; was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church and was retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel; Allenport Plant; where he worked in the tube mill until his retirement in 1982. He was a veteran of the Korean War; having served in the U.S. Army Military Police; was a member of the American Legion Post 945 and volunteered at the St. Vincent de Paul Society; Monessen. He is survived by his wife; Pearl Katchmark Snyder with whom he was married 59 years; a daughter and son-in-law; Angela Snyder Kozura and husband; Randy Kozura; of Washington Township; grandson; R.J. Randy Kozura of Washington Township; four brothers and three sisters-in-law; George and Gloria Snyder of Monessen; Dennis and Connie Snyder of Washington; Michael and Sylvia Snyder of Roanoke; Louisiana; Joseph Snyder of the state of Washington; a sister and brother-in-law; Grace and Bob Suss of the state of Washington and his loving friend; Frostie. A son of the late Duane and Dolores Bondi Roberts; he was born in Charleroi on Oct. 16; 1954; and was a lifelong resident of the Mon Valley. Mike spent 41 years working for the Belle Vernon Borough; where he was the street commissioner. He was a lifetime member of the Belle Vernon Fire Department and a member of the Belle Vernon Moose.
