Julie Hollick; 94; of Belle Vernon; passed away Sunday; Feb. 2; 2014. A daughter of the late Stephen and Eva Yousiak Trembach; she was born in Pricedale on May 26; 1919. A lifelong resident of Belle Vernon; Julie was a member of Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church. John G. Lesko; 71; of Tucson; Ariz.; formerly of Belle Vernon; died Wednesday; Jan. 29; 2014; at N.W. Medical Center; Tucson; Ariz. Born April 24; 1942; in Bayonne; N.J.; he was the son of the late John M. and Mary Kavula Lesko. A resident of Tucson for the past year; having previously resided in Belle Vernon; Mr. Lesko was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church and was a retired insurance agent for the Knights of Columbus. He was a member of the Belle Vernon Knights of Columbus Council 3026 and a 4th Degree Member of the Bishop Phelan Assembly 911; Monessen; and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He is survived by his wife; Barbara Fabian Lesko to whom he was married 48 years; two sons and daughters-in-law; John M. Kathryn Bell Cunningham; 91; of Monessen; departed this life peacefully on Jan. 23; 2014. She was born Jan. 19; 1923; in Monessen; daughter of the late Nora Bell Biffle and James Lester Bell. Kathryn was preceded in death by husband; James Cunningham; three brothers; Lester; Joseph and Edward Bell; one son; Paul Loines Sr.; and one grandson Brian Loines. Affectionately called “KatKat”; by all who knew and loved her; she was strong-willed and highly spirited. KatKat was the oldest member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church; where she served as a deaconess; on the Usherboard; Senior Mission Society and was an original member of the Calvary Gospel Chorus. She was also a faithful member in the Women’s Prayer Group at Union Baptist Church. For many years; KatKat was devoted and active with the Mon Valley NAACP and a former member of the Order of Eastern Stars. She was a retired beautician by profession; operated her own shop and worked in her later years; as a nursing assistant. Left to cherish KatKat’s memory are three daughters; Barbara Woodson and husband; Louis Sr.; a devoted son-in-law; Audrey Cunningham; Phyllis Williams and husband; Eddie; and one son; Robert Cunningham; all of Monessen; and one daughter-in-law; Mary Loines of Cleveland; Ohio. Also surviving are six grandchildren; Judy Woodson McNeil; Sherry Loines; Louis Woodson Jr.; Gregory Woodson; Paul Loines Jr. and Erik Dupree; 18 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren along with a host of nieces; nephews; relatives; church family and friends. Irene Modrak Mendicino; 89; of Belle Vernon; Washington Township; died Tuesday; March 15; 2011; in Monongahela Valley Hospital. Born July 29; 1921; in Pricedale; she was the daughter of the late John and Mary Motchkoski Modrak. A resident of Washington Township for the past 60 years; Mrs. Mendicino was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church and a retired storekeeper and owner of Anna and Irene’s Grocery. She was a member of the former Belle Vernon Knights of Columbus Council 3026 Ladies Auxiliary and former Catholic Daughters of the Americas Belle Vernon Court 1522. She loved to play cards; enjoyed swimming and trips to the casino. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law; Beverly and Richard Lubecki; of Washington Township; two grandchildren; R. He loved gardening; fly fishing and spending time with his young son. Timothy J. Ambrose; 55; of North Belle Vernon; went to be with the Lord on Sunday; Jan. 5; 2014; in his home after a lengthy and courageous battle with pulmonary fibrosis. He was born in North Charleroi on Sept. 15; 1958; a son of Donna Rodgers Ambrose; who survives and resides in North Belle Vernon and Vincenzo J. ‘Winks’ Ambrose Jr.; who passed away in 2002 and a brother of Jeffrey Michael Ambrose who passed away in 1974. A lifelong resident of North Belle Vernon; Tim was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church. A computer technician by trade; Tim was formerly employed by Gulf Oil Co.; where he traveled the world; and several other companies. Survivors; in addition to his mother; include one brother and sister-in-law; Craig and Pam Ambrose; one sister and brother-in-law; Traci and Steve Pawlak; all of North Belle Vernon; six loving nieces and nephews; who were the light of his life; Courtney Ambrose; Jeffrey Ambrose and his wife Shannon; Cody Ambrose; Jared Pawlak; Chelsea Pawlak and LeeAnn Pawlak; a special cousin; Angie Bashada; and several aunts; uncles and cousins. Even through the pain and suffering he endured; Tim was always upbeat with a positive attitude and never complained.
