Herman W. Lazzari; 81; of Waynesburg; formerly of Belle Vernon; passed away Sunday; March 2; 2014; in the home of his daughter Laurie. A son of the late Armando and Dorothy Treater Lazzari; he was born in Belle Vernon on Sept. 6; 1932. Herman had resided in Waynesburg for the past 35 years; was a member of the Waynesburg Legion; Post 330; and; for over 20 years; had been the owner of Lazzari Instrumentation; retiring in 1997. A private pilot; flying planes was one of his great passions. He was an avid fisherman and served with the U.S. Army in Korea. Bernice Ester ‘Sis’ Clark-Minnie; 65; of Charleroi; fell asleep in the Lord peacefully at her home on Jan. 30; 2014. Kathryn Bell Cunningham; 91; of Monessen; departed this life peacefully on Jan. 23; 2014. She was born Jan. 19; 1923; in Monessen; daughter of the late Nora Bell Biffle and James Lester Bell. Affectionately called “KatKat”; by all who knew and loved her; she was strong-willed and highly spirited. KatKat was the oldest member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church; where she served as a deaconess; on the Usherboard; Senior Mission Society and was an original member of the Calvary Gospel Chorus. She was also a faithful member in the Women’s Prayer Group at Union Baptist Church. For many years; KatKat was devoted and active with the Mon Valley NAACP and a former member of the Order of Eastern Stars. She was a retired beautician by profession; operated her own shop and worked in her later years; as a nursing assistant.
