Mr. Bainbridge was born Nov.
21;1921; in Fairnope; a son of the
late Robert and Catherine
Sproates Bainbridge.
A lifelong resident of the Belle
Vernon area; he was a member
of Belle Vernon American
Legion Post 659; the AARP and
Mon Valley Chapter 131 of the
Disabled American Veterans.
Mr. Bainbridge retired in 1984 as a technician for the Mine Safety and health Administration of the United States Government. He was a U.s.Army veteran of World War II;serving in the Pacific. Survivors include his wife;Harriet Hilty Bainbridge;one daughter;Paticia Bainbridge at home;and one brother;Richard Bainbridge of Fairhope. Friends will be received Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m.and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.in the Ferguson Funeral Home;700 Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon;where services will be held Friday at 11 a.m.with the Rev. Dr. Thomas St.Clair;pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Belle Vernon;officiating. Burial will be held in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Ferguson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Alvin Bulger;78;of 307 Delmont Ave.;Belle Vernon;died Friday;Feb.16;1990;at 6:10 a.m.in Haven Crest Convalescent Home;Carroll Township. He was born June 5;1911;in Arnold City;a son of the late Samuel James and Frances Brown Bulger. He was a lifelong resident of the Belle Vernon area. He was a member of the Marion United Presbyterian Church;Fairhope;and retired in 1974 as an inspector at the Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp.Monessen Plant. In addition to his parents;he was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters;and one grandson;Jeffrey Michael Nogy. Survivors include his wife;Helen Kozak Bulger;one son;Samuel James Bulger of Deer Park;Texas;three daughters;Barbara Ann Bulger;at home;Mrs.Michael (Frances Timmie ) Nogy of Wichita;Kansas;and Margaret Jane Tini Williams of Vineland;N.J.;one brother;Arthur Meger of Eldora;one sister;Mrs.Elsie Herden of Fairhope;and two grandchildren;Christopher Michael Nogy and Samuel Alvin Nogy. Elma H.Breakwell;89;of 275 Braden School Road;Beaver Falls;died Saturday;Jan.13;1990;at 11 p.m.in Beaver County Medical Center. She was born in Belle Vernon May 31;1900;a daughter of the late Elmer F.and Lura Lehew Haught. Mrs.Breakwell was a member of the First United Methodiat Church of Belle Vernon;the Mon Valley Rebekah Lodge 82 and the Order of the Eastern Star. She had lived in Beaver Falls for the past year;having previously lived in Belle Vernon for most of her life. In addition to her parents;she was preceded in death by her husband;Charles D.Breakwell Sr.in 1965;a son;Charles D.Breakwell Jr.in 1973;and two sisters;Mattie Abrams in 1986 and Alice Hoyes in 1988. She is survived by three daughters;Mrs.C.H.(Claradele) Wolf of Beaver Falls;Mrs.Virginia Murnane of Pittsburgh and Mrs.Clarence (Hilda) Roberts of Beaver Falls;four grandchildren;13 great-grandchildren;and three great-great-grandchildren. Mr.Balaska was born Nov.22;1899;in Caechoslovakia;a son of the late Andrew and Helen Karas Balaska. He was Lutheran by faith. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers;John Balaska;1985;and Andrew Balaska;1973. Mr.Balaska retired in 1965 from the Monessen plant of the Pittsburgh Steel Co. Survivors include his wife;Amelia Frederick Balaska;one son;Michael J.Balaska of Margate;Fla.;one daughter;Mrs.Ralph (Elaine) Matrozzo of Woodbridge;Va.;and three grandchildren.
