Cal Bernardo;70;of 9 Eggers Ave.;Belle Vernon;died Monday;Jan.20;1997;at 12:40 p.m.in his home. Born Nov.16;1926;in Cleveland;Ohio;he was a son of the late Santo and Theresa Rizzutto Bernardo. A lifelong resident of the Belle Vernon area;he was a member of Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Church in Fayette City. Mr.Bernardo retired in 1986 from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp.;Monessen plant;where he worked in the weld shop. A U.S.Navy veteran of World War II;he was a member of American Legion Post 659 and VFW Post 699;both of Belle Vernon;and Benevolent Order of Elks Lodge 494 of Charleroi. Mr.Bernardo was chariman of the credit committee at Valley First Federal Credit Union. He served on the reunion committee of the Rostraver High School Class of 1945. Survivors include his wife;Vivian Gavazzi Bernardo;two brothers and a sister-in-law;Santo Bernardo Jr.of Los Angeles;Calif.;and Richard and Judy Bernard of Coraopolis;a sister-in-law;Rose Klochak of Belle Vernon;and a brother-in-law;Roger Bridges of Belle Vernon. In addition to his parents;he was preceded in death by a brother;Robert Bernardo Sr.;and a sister;Carole Bridges. Eleanor Toots Graham Barrass;89;of 726 Speet St.;Belle Vernon;died Friday;Dec.13;1996;at 7:58 p.m.in Jefferson Hospital.  She was born March 15;1907;in Belle Vernon;a daughter of the late Thomas and Lillie Gibson Graham.  She was a lifelong resident of the Belle Vernon community.  She was a member of the First United Methodist Church;Belle Vernon.  She retired in 1972 as a school teacher for the Belle Vernon Area School District.  She was the first kindergarten teacher at the North Belle Vernon Elementary School and taught there for many years.  She also taught at the former Speers Elementary School.  She was a graduate of California Normal School.  Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law;Terry and Carol Barrass of Belle Vernon;two granddaughters;Jennifer Barrass and Jessica Barrass;and one sister;Laura Nahar of Belle Vernon.  In addition to her parents;she was preceded in death by her husband;Thomas Barrass in 1946;three sisters;Ettie Pugh;Nora Graham;and Ann Fee;and one brother;Fred Graham.  Friends will be received Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Leonard J.Parzynski Funeral Home;626 Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon;where a funeral service will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m.with the Rev.S.Miles McConnell;pastor First United Methodist Church;Belle Vernon;officiating.  Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.  The Leonard J.Parzynski Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.   

Kathryn Grace (Sissy) Mauro Blasko;45;of 422 Fallowfield Ave.;Charleroi;died Monday;Dec.2;1996;in her home. She was born April 23;1951;in Pittsburgh;a daughter of Patsy J.Mauro of North Charleroi and the late Rita Traynor Mauro;who died Feb.6;1995. She had resided in the Mon Valley since 1984. She was a member of St.Sebastian Roman Catholic Church;Belle Vernon;and the national Society of Diagnostic Sonographers. Survivors;in addition to her father;include her husband;Allan J.Blasko;two brothers;John Kennedy Mauro and Michael A.Mauro;both of Coatesville;one sister;Jill A.Mauro of Florida. In addition to her mother;she was preceded in death by one daughter;Adrianna Adie Ogden in 1991;and one brother;Patsy Mauro in 1978. There will be no public visitation. Sally M.Biagini;88;formerly of Charleroi;died Tuesday;Nov.5;1996;in Allen Memorial Hospital;Oberlin;Ohio.  Born May 19;1908;in Hanna;Wyo.;she was a daughter of the late William and Minnie Heino.  Lutheran by faith;she was a member of Charleroi AARP and the Charleroi Area Women’s Club.   Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law;Carole and Thomas Wildman of Amherst;Ohio;with whom she had made her home the past month;eight grandchildren;seven great-grandchildren;one sister;Mrs.Edward (Lila) Wall of North Charleroi and a son-in-law;Walter Kraynek.  In addtion to her parents;she was preceded in death by her husband;Chris Biagini;two daughters;Sally Richie and Doris Kraynek;one sister;Martha Hellonen;and two brothers;Eino and Leonard Heino.  There will be no public visitation.  The Robert A.Billick Funeral Home Inc.;Grand Boulevard and Marion Avenue;Monessen;is in charge of arrangements.

Elmer L.Britt Jr.;71;of 133 Marion Ave.;Belle Vernon (Fairhope) died Saturday;Sept.14;1996;at 10:25 a.m.in the Mon Valley Hospital;Carroll Township. Born April 4;1925 in North Belle Vernon;he was a son of the late Mr.and Mrs.Elmer L.Britt Sr. Mr.Britt was a lifelong resident of the Belle Vernon area and was Lutheran by faith. He was a veteran of World War II having served in the U.S.Army and was a member of the Belle Vernon American Legion Post 659. He was also a retired owner and operator of Britt’s Auto Body Shop in Fairhope. Survivors include his wife;Carole MacDonnell Britt;two sons;David Britt of Dunlevy and Timmy Britt of Belle Vernon;and one daughter;Debbie Bartolotta of Monongahela. In additin to his parents;he was preceded in death by two brothers.
