A lifelong resident of the Belle Vernon area;he was a member of Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Church in Fayette City. Mr.Bernardo retired in 1986 from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp.;Monessen plant;where he worked in the weld shop. A U.S.Navy veteran of World War II;he was a member of American Legion Post 659 and VFW Post 699;both of Belle Vernon;and Benevolent Order of Elks Lodge 494 of Charleroi. Mr.Bernardo was chariman of the credit committee at Valley First Federal Credit Union. He served on the reunion committee of the Rostraver High School Class of 1945. She was born March 15;1907;in Belle Vernon;a daughter of the late Thomas and Lillie Gibson Graham. She was a lifelong resident of the Belle Vernon community. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church;Belle Vernon. She retired in 1972 as a school teacher for the Belle Vernon Area School District. She was the first kindergarten teacher at the North Belle Vernon Elementary School and taught there for many years. She also taught at the former Speers Elementary School. She was a graduate of California Normal School. Born April 4;1925 in North Belle Vernon;he was a son of the late Mr.and Mrs.Elmer L.Britt Sr. Mr.Britt was a lifelong resident of the Belle Vernon area and was Lutheran by faith. He was a veteran of World War II having served in the U.S.Army and was a member of the Belle Vernon American Legion Post 659. He was also a retired owner and operator of Britt’s Auto Body Shop in Fairhope. Survivors include his wife;Carole MacDonnell Britt;two sons;David Britt of Dunlevy and Timmy Britt of Belle Vernon;and one daughter;Debbie Bartolotta of Monongahela. In additin to his parents;he was preceded in death by two brothers.
