A resident of Rostraver
Township for the past 30 years;
he had retired in 1976 from the
Monessen Plant of Wheeling
Pittsburgh Steel; where he was
a pipefitter.
He is survived by his wife;
Rose Karelli Ambrose Chambers;
a son; Edward Chambers
of Dallas; Texas; a daughter.
Beverly Podanic of North Charleroi;
a stepson; Charles Ambrose
of Charleroi; a stepdaughter;
Mrs. Duane (Betty
Ann) Lowe of Brandon; Fla.; 11
grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents; he
was preceded in death by two
brothers; Denzil Chambers and
Charles Kibler; and one sister
Verda Collins.

Hazel Charles;78;of Monessen;died Saturday;April 2;1994;in the Humbert Lane Health Care Center. She was born March 25;1916;in Bedford;a daughter of the late Amos W.and Margaret E.Smith Wigfield. She was a lifelong resident of Monessen. She was a very active and devoted member of the First Christian Church;Monessen. She was also a member of the C.W.F.of the church;where she served as historian for many years;and helped with the church’s newsletter for over 21 years. Survivors include on daughter and son-in-law;Hazel Kay and Randy Palmer;of Monessen;one sister;Sylvia Pressel of Bedford County;one brother;Edgar Wigfield of Everett;and two half-brothers;Allan Wigfield of Warfordsburg and Blair Wigfield of Cumberland;Md. In addition to her parents;she was preceded in death by her husband;Richard A.Charles;one brother;Marshall Smith;and three sisters;Zella Riley;Pearl Barnes;and Moneada Smith. She was born in Arnold City;Oct.2;1911;a daughter of the late A.Myles and Jane A.McCoy Dolan Sr. Mrs.Cross was a cook at Washington Hospital for 25 years;retiring in 1975. She was Catholic by faith. She is survived by two brothers;Francis B.Dolan Sr.of Washington;Pa.;and Joseph Earl Dolan of Painesville;Ohio and one sister;Jane Watkins of Brownsville. In addition to her parents;she was preceded in death by her husband Paul Hob Cross who died in

Mrs.Crise was a member of the First Christian Church of Monessen;where she was a deaconness and she also taught Sunday school for many years in the church. She was also a member of the Wild Art River League of Perryopolis. She came to Belle Vernon 48 years ago from Bentleyville and in 1993 she and her husband celebrated 47 years of marriage;having been married Sept.21;1946. Mrs.Crise is survived by her husband;Frank J.Crise;three sons;William D.Crise of North Huntingdon;Thomas J.Crise of Abingdon;Va.;and Alan F.Crise of Perryopolis;two sisters;Ferne Purks of Somerset and Ruth Richwine of Monessen;and seven grandchildren.
