Vernon and Fayette City Golden Agers and was a member of
the Belle Vernon American
Legion Post Auxiliary.

She was an employee of the Fayette County Housing Authority as a health care worker. She was a board member of the Fayette City Bull Dogs football team and treasurer for 27 years of the Belle Vernon Area Midget Football League. Mrs.Durr was Protestant by faith. She was also preceded in death by her husband;Richard Durr;on June 13;1983;by a brother;Clarence (Buddy) Hess;Oct.1;1964;and a sister;Leona Maxine Hess;Feb.16;1980. She was born Aug.26;1917;in Charleroi;a daughter of the late Sam and Lillian Hays Fox. She was a lifelong resident of the Mon Valley. She was Protestant by faith. She retired in 1979 as an office secretary for the former Fox Grocery Co.;Rostraver Township. Survivors include one son;Samuel Sims of Rostraver Township;two granddaughters;Helen Lorraine Sims and Jeannette Darlene Mayfield. In addition to her parents;she was preceded in death by her first husband;Daniel Sims in November 1958. There will be no public visitation. He retired in 1987 as an electrical inspector for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
