Lillian B.Gaul;97;formerly of Rostraver Township;died Saturday;Nov.18;2000;in Country Care Manor;Fayette City. A daughter of the late David and Mary Brooks;she was born May 21;1903;in Bentleyville. A protestrant by faith;she has lived in Rostraver Township for over 50 years. Survivors include a sister;Maurvoreen Shronovich of Bentleyville;two grandsons;Rick Gaul of North Belle Vernon and John Norman Gaul of Rostraver Township;and two great-grandchildren;Jon Robert Gaul and Gianna Nicole Gaul. In addition to her parents;she was preceded in death by her husband;H.Norman Gaul in 1959;a son;John D.Gaul in 1978;four sisters and one brother. Lloyd K.Githens;93;formerly of Belle Vernon;died Monday;Nov.13;2000. Born May 28;1907;in North Belle Vernon;he was the son of the late William and Elma Shepler Githens. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Belle Vernon;a life member of the North Belle Vernon Volunteer Fire Department;and a former member and past president of the Belle Vernon Lions Club. He had been a member of the Rostraver Township Sewage Authority for 10 years. He was a member of the site selection committee and the building committee of both the current buildings of the North Belle Vernon Volunteer Fire Depatrment and First Presbyterian Church. Mr.Githens had lived in Greensburg the past 2 1/2 years and had previously lived in Rostraver Township. He had been in the real estate and insurance business;starting in 1937. He went into partnership with the R.C.Thompson Real Estate and Insurance Agency in 1954 for several years until buying that business and forming Githens Agency. He operated that business until his etirement in 1974;at which time it became the Githens Insurance Center;operated by his son until 1997. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law;Robert and Jyulene Githens of Greensburg;a daughter;Marilyn Githens Tiscot of Woodbury;N.J.;three sisters;Edna Lambert of York;Grace Chalfant of Fairless Hills and Elizabeth McSteen of Pinehurst;N.C.;eight grandchildren;Robert J.Tiscot Jr.;Meg Tiscot Geschwind;Pam Tiscot Muszkowicz;Gayle Githens Hughes;Jodie Githens Bouvery;Susan Githens Cable;Lynn Caccamese DeCaro and Suanne Caccamese;and nine great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents;he was preceded in death by his wife of 65 1/2 years;Alice Humphries Githens;in December;1998;and four brothers;William;Ellison;Robert and Albert Githens. Jack D.Girardin;70;of Fallowfield Township;died Monday;Oct.23;2000;in Mon Valley Hospital. He was born Aug.16;1930 in Monessen;a son of the late Angelo and Mary Viviani Girardin. Mr.Girardin was a former mayor of Allenport;a member and past noble grand of the L.O.O.F.Lodge #1030 of Charleroi;a member of the F&AM Gummert Lodge #252 of Fayette City;and a member of the O.E.S.Lodge #205 of Monessen. He was a veteran having served in the U.S.Navy Marine Corps. Mr.Girardin was retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel. Surviving is his wife;Audrey Meli Girardin;a son;Jack A.Girardin of Charleroi;two daughters;Blanche and her husband Michael Jacob of Sanford;Fla.;and Marianne E.Girardin and her husband;William C.Short of Allenport;a sister;Lillian Plevel of California;Pa.;two grandchildren;Frank J.Lucas III and Christianne Girardi. In addition to his parents;he is preceded in death by a sister;Louise Winship. There will be no public viation. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
