1999; at 6 p.m. at her home.
She was born Dec. 17;1916; in
North Carolina; a daughter of
the late Calvin Smith and
Ruth Atkinson. Mrs. Garner
was a resident of Belle
Vernon/Arnold City for over 60
years. She was Baptist by
faith and a member of the
Antioch Baptist Church of
Belle Vernon; where she
served as a deaconess; on the
nurses board; the ushers
board; in the Mass choir; and
willing workers. Mrs. Garner
was also a member of the
NAACP; volunteered for the
Meals on Wheels program; and
served as a home health aide
for the Area Agency on Aging.
She was also a daughter of the
Elks Okay Lodge of Monessen.
In addition to her parents; she
was preceded in death by her
husband; Deacon James Daniel Garner in 1983; and by a
daughter; Ruth Ann Garner.
Survivors include five sons
and daughters-in-law; James
and Dolly Sellers of Upper
Marlboro; Md.; Samuel and
Millicent Sellers of Arnold
City; Thomas Daniel and
Catherine Garner of Oxen
Hill; Md.; Eugene Melvin and
