Jack D.Girardin;70;of Fallowfield Township;died Monday;Oct.23;2000;in Mon Valley Hospital. He was born Aug.16;1930 in Monessen;a son of the late Angelo and Mary Viviani Girardin. Mr.Girardin was a former mayor of Allenport;a member and past noble grand of the L.O.O.F.Lodge #1030 of Charleroi;a member of the F&AM Gummert Lodge #252 of Fayette City;and a member of the O.E.S.Lodge #205 of Monessen. He was a veteran having served in the U.S.Navy Marine Corps. Mr.Girardin was retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel. Surviving is his wife;Audrey Meli Girardin;a son;Jack A.Girardin of Charleroi;two daughters;Blanche and her husband Michael Jacob of Sanford;Fla.;and Marianne E.Girardin and her husband;William C.Short of Allenport;a sister;Lillian Plevel of California;Pa.;two grandchildren;Frank J.Lucas III and Christianne Girardi. In addition to his parents;he is preceded in death by a sister;Louise Winship. There will be no public viation. A memorial service will be held at a later date. the late Peter and Mary
Zwyrzinski Grabania. She was
a member of St. John the
Divine Orthodox Church;
Monessen. A lifelong resident;
of Monessen; she retired in
1988 from the Corning Glass
Plant; Charleroi. She is survived by many nieces and
nephews. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family and was preceded in
death by one brother; William
Grabania; .and five sisters;
Ann McKosky; Mary Evans;
Rose Kostura; Pauline Sypolt;
and Nellie Pobok. Friends will
be received Thursday from 2 to
4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME
INC.; a Golden Rule Funeral
Home; 700 Broad Ave.; Belle
Vernon. A Blessing service will
be held Friday at 11 a.m. in
the funeral home with the Very
Rev. Father John Horosky; officiating. Burial will be in Belle
Vernon Cemetery.

Cecelia A. Queenie Giannini; 81; of Monessen; died
Tuesday; Nov. 23; 1999; in
Mon Valley Hospital; Carroll
Township; following an illness
of one year. Born July 14;
1918; in Monessen; she was a
daughter of the late Annibale
and Candida Prioreschi Giannini. She was a 1936 graduate
of Monessen High School and
a 1939 graduate of Mercy
School of Nursing. She was a
member of Epiphany of Our
Lord Roman Catholic Church;
Monessen. She was a World
War II Army nurse veteran;
having served with the 509th
Medical Hospital Ship Platoon;
serving station and general
hospitals in and around Karachi and Bombay; India; supervising medical and surgical
wards. Ms. Giannini retired in
1973; having worked as a
nurse for the Veterans Hospital in Butler and the Veterans
Hospital in Oakland; Pittsburgh. She was a member of
Thomas McKee American Legion Post 28; and Allison-Lescanic VFW Post 1190; both
of Monessen. She was also a
member of the Mon Valley Nurses Club. Survivors include three sisters;Leona G.Kuhn of Belle Vernon;Lil DeMarino of Monessen and Mrs.Lawrence (Gerry) Elyanich of Monessen;and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents;she was preceded in death by three brothers;Roland;Baldo (Bud) and Angelo (Sonny) Giannini;and a sister;Rose Sabol. Friends will be received Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m.and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.in the DALFONSO-BILLICK FUNERAL HOME INC.;441 Reed Ave.;Monessen. A Blessing service will be held Saturday at 9:30 a.m.in the funeral home;followed by a 10 a.m.Funeral Mass in Epiphany of Our Lord R.C.Church. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
