He was the owner and operator of John L.Holder Grocery Store on Market St. in Belle Vernon;and had retired in 1969. A former member of the North Belle Vernon Fire Department;Mr.Holder was also a member of the Junior Order of American Mechanics. He was preceded in death by his wife;Muriel McKinley Holder;one son;Warren Holder;and one daughter;Mrs.LLoyd (Margaret) Christopher. His parents were the late John and Ruth Helen Wiltsee Hammitt. Mr.Hammitt was a member of the First Baptist Church;Belle Vernon. He retired from the Monessen Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp in 1954. His wife;Maude Tharpe Hammitt;preceded him in death on March 17;1963.
