John Maurice McCraw;89;formerly of Monessen;died Tuesday;July 5;1994;in Southern Maryland Hospital;Clinton;Md. He was born in Dunbar;Jan.10;1905;a son of the late James McGraw and Elmira McCraw Lacy. Mr.McCraw spent most of his life in Monessen. He moved to Brandywine;Md.;approximately 30 years ago. He was a former employee of Pittsburgh Steel Co.of Monessen. Mr.McCraw formerly was a member of the Union Baptist Church of Monessen. He is survived by one sister;Helen Rice Little;stepchildren;Prudence Jane Elliott of Monessen and Helen Richards of Washington;Pa.;and a sister-in-law;Ruby McCraw. He is also survived by nieces Dr.Carolyn Carter of Hampton;Va.;and Marilyn Simpson of Monessen;nephews;Arnold Rice of Wilmington;Del.;Maurice (Tubby) Rice of Monessen;Alfred Little of Ambler;Pa.;James L.McCraw of Arizona;Robert M.McCraw of San Diego;Calif.;and Clarence Wilson of Pittsburgh;a cousin Lucille Stevenson of Monessen;six great-nieces;and six great-nephews. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m.in the Union Baptist Church;Monessen;with the Rev.James Edmonds officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Mrs.Mason was a member of the Nazrene Church of Belle Vernon. She was a life-long resident of Belle Vernon. Vernon.
A veteran of the U.S. Army;
Mr. Mills was a member of the
Monessen American Legion.
He was a former employee of
Jones Frozen Foods and retired
from PennDOT.

was preceded in death by one

sisters; Marian; Gertrude; Sherdina and Genevieve.

Born Dec.6;1922;in Monongahela;he was the son of the late Harry and Pauline Assel McGavitt. Mr.McGavitt resided in Belle Vernon for 50 years and attended the Char-Belle Free Methodist Church. In 1981;because of ill health;he retired from the Monessen plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp.;where he was employed as a millwright. He and his wife;Anna Fike McGavitt;would have celebrated 50 years of marriage in October 1994. In addition to his parents;he was preceded in death by two brothers;Harry and Thomas McGavitt.
