Methodist Church; he had resided
in the Belle Vernon area
his entire adult life. He retired
from the Wheeling-Pittsburgh
Steel Corp. Monessen plant
where he was employed as an
office clerk.
He was a U.S. Army Air
Force veteran of World War II.
In addition to his parents; he
was preceded in death by his
first wife; Margaret (Peg) Jacobs
Manning.
Survivors include his wife;
Helen Yonko Manning; two
sons and one daughter-in-law;
Tom and Joyce Legg Manning
of Cortland; Ohio; and Larry
Manning of Des Moines; Iowa;
one daughter; Kathy Acton of
Hudson; Ohio; and three grandchildren;
Shani and Vikki Manning
and Larry Acton Jr.

Born March 30;1922;in Charleroi;she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Maggie Dudgeon Carroll. Mrs.Martz was a lifelong resident of Belle Vernon;where she was a member of the First Baptist Church. Survivors include one daughter;Mrs. Allen (Darlene) Clark of Belle Vernon;one son;Joseph Martz of Florida;a brother;William Carroll of Missouri;four grandchildren;Allan Clark;Jr.;Joseph (Leo) Clark;Jerry Clark and Charlotte Clark;and seven great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents;she was preceded in death by her husband;Harry (Moe) Martz;in June 1977;and a daughter;Margaret Darlene Martz. Clara Hope Manown;97;formerly of Main Street;Monongahela;died Thursday;Oct.24;1996;in Kneric Manor;Donora. She was born Nov.26;1898;in Cottageville;W.Va.;a daughter of the late John Wirt and Quintilla Bennett Harpold. After leaving Monongahela;Mrs.Manown and her husband;the late Voyle F.Manown Sr.;moved to Chicago;Ill. While residing in Chicago for 30 years;she was a buyer with the Marshall Field Department Store;where she had been employed for 12 years. After her retirement in 1963;she moved back to Monongahela;where she was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. In addition to her parents and husband;she was preceded in death by a daughter;Verna H.Manown. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law;Voyle F.and Elizabeth Manown Jr.of Roswell;Ga.;two grandsons;Peter and his wife Terry Manown and Thomas Manown;one granddaughter;Mrs.Janice Galindo;and two great-grandsons and their spouses;Steven and Susan Manown and Daniel and Christina Galindo. of the late John and Mary
Motchkoski Modrak.
A lifelong resident of the
Belle Vernon area; Mr. Modrak
was a member of St. Mary Byzantine Rite Catholic Church;
Monessen.
He was also a member of
Belle Vernon Knights of Columbus Council 3026; Benevolent
Order of Elks Lodge 494 of
Charleroi; and the Hungarian
Society and Russian Club; both
of Pricedale.
Mr. Modrak was a retired
heavy equipment operator;
working through the Operating
Engineers Pittsburgh Local.
Survivors include a brother;
Bill Modrak of Roscoe; and two
sisters; Margaret Fabian of
Belle Vernon and Mrs. James
(Irene) Mendicino of Belle Vernon; with whom he made his
home.
In addition to his parents; he
was preceded in death by a
brother; Michael Modrak.
