He was born Dec.11;1911;in Johnstown;a son of the late Andrew and Mary Kovalski Petro. Mr.Petro was a member of Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church;Belle Vernon. Previously from Mt.Pleasant;he had lived in Belle Vernon for the past six years. He was a coal miner;retired from the Banning mine;and a member of United Mine Workers of America;District 5. A U.S.Army veteran of World War II;he was a member of Mt.Pleasant American Legion Post 446 and the VFW;Roy E.Closson Post;Youngwood. He was also a member of the Hempfield Hunt Club;East Huntingdon Firemen’s Club;Sons of Italy Perryopolis Lodge 730;New Stanton Moose and the Tarrs Volunteer Fire Department;and an associate member of the Mt.Pleasant VFD and Legion Club. In addition to his parents;he was preceded in death by his first wife;Ann Morvosh Petro;one sister;Mary Koza;and three brothers;John;Andrew and Stephen Petro. Lodge 1146; Monessen. She was a
retired janitress for the Belle Vernon
Area School District.
She was preceded in death by her
husband; James Patterson; in 1968;
by a grandson; Kevin Scott Patterson;
in 1960; and by two brothers; Andrew
Shosky; in 1941; and Michael
Shosky; in 1985.
Surviving are two sons; James M.
Patterson and William Thomas Patterson;
both of Fairhope; four
grandchildren; one great-grandchild;
a brother; John T.
