John Srnka (Sanko) of Char-House;251 Ninth St.;Charleroi;died Sunday;July 7;1985;at 3:30 a.m. in the Washington Hospital. He was 76. Mr.Srnka was born Nov.6;1908;in Leckrone;Pa.;a son of the late Martin and Anna Kukar Srnka. A resident of the mid-Mon Valley his entire life;Mr.Srnka was a member of Saints Cyril and Methodius Roman Catholic Church;Charleroi;and the Belle Vernon Knights of Columbus. He was a veteran of World War II;having served in the U.S.Army. Mr.Srnka was a retired tailor from the David Israel Men’s Store in Charleroi. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother;Stephen. Survivors include his wife;Ann Demcisk Srnka;and one brother;Martin in Europe. Blanche Meli Southwell;formerly of Allenport;died Tuesday;June 25;1985;at 10:20 a.m.at her home at 18550 Hercules St.;Herperia;Calif. Mrs.Southwell was 77. Born in Allenport;May 8;1908;she was a daughter of the late William E.and Lydia Riley Balmer. Mrs.Southwell was a retired school teacher for the Charleroi Area elementery schools;having instructed pupils at the Ninth Street School;Crest Avenue and North Charleroi elementaries. She was a graduate of what is now California University of Pennsylvania. Precededing her in death was her first husband;Philip S.Meli in 1952 and a son;Phili B.Meli. Surviving are her husband;Ben Southwell;two sons;Thomas E.Meli of Valinda;Calif.;and Lawrence B.Meli of Yreka;Calif.;a daughter;Mrs.Jack (Audrey) Girardin of Fallowfield Township;one sister;Mrs.David (Marjorie) Barnum of Allenport;nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Thomas E. (Boze) Seibert of 117 Henry St.Rear;Belle Vernon;died at 10 p.m. Tuesday;June 11;1985;at his home. He was 53. Born in Blainesburg (West Brownsville);June 18;1931;he was a son of the late Thomas W.and Frances Bates Seibert. Mr.Seibert was a member of the Lynnwood Lutheran Church;the American Legion;the Moose and the VFW;all of Belle Vernon and the East Belle Vernon Athletic Club. He had resided in the Belle Vernon area most of his life. Mr.Seibert retired from the Monessen plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel in 1977 because of ill health.
