He was born in Washington Township on June 15;1927;a son of the late Emerson and Margaret Grant Spiker. He is preceded in death by two brothers;Melvin and Emerson. Mr.Stanish was born May 4;1895;in Poland;a son of the late Paul and Pauline Stanish. He was a charter member and a life member of the Washington Township Fire Department. Mr.Stanish was also a member of the Western Pennsylvania Firemen’s Asociation;the Fayette County Firemen’s Association and the Southwestern Pennsylvania Chiefs Association. He retired in March 1953 from the Black Diamond Mine of the Hillman Coal Company;and was a member of the United Mine Workers.
