Velia Borselli Stankovich of 521 Forest St.;Monessen;died Wednesday;May 6;1987;at 1:40 p.m.in Mon Valley Hospital. She was 66. Mrs.Stankovich was born Dec.1;1920;in Belle Vernon;a daughter of the late Cheno and Alma Cappellini Borselli. She was a member of St.Leonard Roman Catholic Church and the Eagles Auxiliary;both of Monessen. Formerly of Belle Vernon;Mrs.Stankovich had lived in Monessen the past 13 years. She retired in 1975 after working for 15 years as a bookkeeper at the former Matway Chevrolet. Survivors include her husband;Peter;two sons;Jerry P.Stankovich of McKeesport and Peter J.Stankovich of Monessen;one brother;Henry L.Borselli of Ellwood City;one sister;Dolores Anderson of Belle Vernon;and two grandchildren. Pearl Hoffman Savage of Fairhope;Belle Vernon;died Sunday;April 12;1987;at 8:30 a.m.in Haven Crest Nursing Home;Carroll Twp.;following a brief illness. She was 69. Mrs.Savage was born Aug.12;1917;in Washington Twp.;Fayette County;a daughter of the late Robert and Lillian Davis Hoffman. She was a member of Marion Presbyterian Church;Fairhope. Mrs.Savage was also a member of the Golden Agers of Belle Vernon and Fayette City;and the Naomi Athletic Club. Survivors include her husband;Nick Savage;two sons;Robert Savage of Belle Vernon and Fred Savage;six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Rev.Harrison J.Spencer;86;of 177 Terrace Dr.;Monongahela;died Thursday;Feb.19;1987 at 1 a.m. in Mon Valley Hospital after a short illness. He was born Dec.24;1900 in Lynchburg;Va.;a son of the late King and Carrie Spencer. He was retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel’s Monessen Plant. He was also a former pastor of the Union Baptist Church;Herminie and the First Baptist Church;Gallatin. He was also a charter member of Union Baptist Church;Monessen. In addition to his parents;he was preceded in death by a daughter;Dr.Carol Ann Spencer of Stockton;Calif.;in 1981;two brothers and two sisters. Survivors include hiw wife;Minnie L.Spencer;three daughters;Jane S.Harris of Pittsburgh;Lt.Col.Dorothy S.Spencer and Harriet M.Spencer;both of Arizona;and a devoted son-in-law;Robert C.Harris of Pittsburgh;one brother;Malchire Spencer of Virginia;three sisters;Mrs.Martha Farmer of Maryland;Mrs.Sophie Palmore of Monroeville and Mrs.Katherine Payne of Virginia.Friends will be received Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday 2 to 4 p.m. at the Beverly C.Draper Funeral Home;608 Sixth St.;Monessen;and Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Union Baptist Church;Monessen;where funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. with the Rev.Lester T.Strader;pastor;officiating.
