She was past president of
the Monessen PTA and the
Monessen Women’s Club and
a member of the Church
Women United of Monessen.
She was serving as director
and corresponding secretary
of Westmoreland County’s
Federation of Women’s
Clubs;District 4.
Her husband; John R.
Stieska; a Monessen pharmacist;
preceded her in death
in January 1973.
Survivors include four
daughters; Mrs. Edward
(Suzanne) Galando of Jeannette;
Mrs. Joseph
(Stephanie) Broglie of Provo;
Utah; and Mrs. Lawrence
(Roberta) Blumenthal and

Elizabeth (Betty) Sabol Szymansky of 616 Henry St.;Belle Vernon;died Tuesday;March 23;1982;at 3:35 a.m.in Mon Valley Hospital;Carroll Twp. She was 62. Mrs.Szymansky was born Jan.16;1920;in Monessen;a daughter of the late Joseph and Anna Paluv Sabol. A resident of the Belle Vernon community for the past 30 years;she was a member of the First Presbyterian Church;Belle Vernon;where she served as elder and as a Sunday School teacher. Mrs.Szymansky also was a member of the H.O.A.class and the Women’s Association of the church and the Golden Agers of Belle Vernon. She was preceded in death by two sisters;Katherine Ostrzycki and Margaret Gutierrez. Survivors include her widower;Quentin Szymansky;one son;Quentin Robert Szymansky of Wilkinsburg;one daughter;Mrs.Jan (Kathleen Nadine) Marchewka of North Huntingdon. Wilford W.Stedman of 108 State St.;(Speers Hill);Charleroi;died suddenly yesterday at 8:15 p.m. in the Mon Valley Hospital. He was 74. Mr.Stedman was born Aug.9;1907 in Nelsonville;Ohio;a son of the late William and Catherine Zephfuss Stedman. A resident of Speers most of his life;Mr.Stedman was a member of Speers United Methodist Church;the Charleroi Elks Club and F&AM Lodge;Charleroi. He was a retired garage foreman at the Allenport Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. In addition to his parents;Mr.Stedman was preceded in death by his wife;Edith Mertens Stedman who died Nov.4;1981;a brother George and a sister;Florence Smith. Survivors include two brothers;Samuel G. John Shupenko Sr.of Dublin;Va.;formerly of Arnold City;died Saturday Jan.30;1982;at 1 a.m.at Radford (Va.) Hospital following a short illness. He was 64. Mr.Shupenko was born May 27;1917;in Pennsylvania;a son of the late Joseph and Ursula Shupenko. He was retired from Jones & Laughlin Steel Corp.;after 45 years of service. Mr.Shupenko was preceded in death by a son;John Shupenko Jr.;on July 28;1962.
