Joan M.Tucci;84;of Monessen;died Friday;Aug.14;1998;in Mon Valley Hospital. She was born on June 12;1914;in Boston;Mass.;a daughter of the late Peter and Nellie Cichowski Kurowski. Mrs.Tucci had been a resident of Monessen most of her adult life. She was Catholic by faith. In addition to her parents;she was preceded in death by her husband;Dr.Frank Tucci;a sister;Stephanie Kurowski;and two brothers;Walter and Siegmond Kurowski. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law;Virginia and Ralph Dolfi of Belle Vernon;and a sister;Sophie Popov of Cranberry;N.J. Stewart U.Thorpe;76;of Voyager Estates;West Newton (Rostraver Township);died Tuesday;May 12;1998;in Mon Valley Hospital;Carroll Township. He was born Sept.8;1921;in Fayette City;a son of the late John and Margaret Usher Thorpe. He was a member of the Rehoboth Presbyterian Church;Belle Vernon. He resided in Rostraver Township for the past 45 years. He retired in 1982 from the Allenport Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel;having worked in the hot mill. He was a U.S.Army veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife of 46 years;Alois Knight Thorpe;one son and daughter-in-law;Richard and Jolie Thorpe of Fredericksburg;Va.;five brothers;John and Gene Thorpe of Perryopolis;Robert Thorpe of Anaheim;Calif.;Mickey Lee Thorpe of West Virginia;and Ronald Thorpe;three sisters;Pearl McCoy of York;Charlotte Santo of Roscoe;and Donna Lessmans of Charleroi;and one grandson;Robert Thorpe. In addition to his parents;he was preceded in death by a son;Stewart Russell Thorpe;in February 1959;and two sisters;Hanna Jones and Edith Mowery.
