in her home following a lengthy illness. She was 88.
Mrs. Vales was born Jan. 27;1899;
in Pricedale; a daughter of the late
John and Mary Lee Harris.
She was a member of the Pleasant
Green A.M.E. Church in Pricedale.
In addition to her parents; Mrs.
Vales was also preceded in death by
her husband; Dunmore Vales; by a
son; George Vales; and by a granddaughter; Elizabeth Jackson.
Surviving are one son; Edward
Vales; of Pricedale; two daughters;
Mrs. Beatrice Summers and Mrs.
Lenora Shaw; both of Pricedale;
nine grandchildren; and eight greatgrandchildren.

p.m.; and at the Pleasant Green
A.M.E. Church on Sunday from 3 to 9

She had been employed for the past 20 years at Johnsons Restaurant and at Lucchesi Restaurant;both in Monessen. A member of the Eagles Ladies Auxiliary of Monessen;she had lived in Monessen the past 17 years. Born Jan.17;1911;in Belle Vernon;he was a son of the late Jacob and Anna DenDecker VanFleet. Prior to his retirement;he was employed as a coal miner. He was a member of the Praise Chapel of Wilkinsburg and the United Mine Workers of America. In addition to his parents;he was preceded in death by his first wife;Delphina VanFleet and a daughter;Sheila Mencer;both in March 1969.
